It’s showtime!
YMCA SCC @ De La Salle had the shared honour of performing the opening act for the YMCA 3rd SCC Annual Storytelling competition. We had a centre full of nervous but excited students who relished the experience. Our contestants managed to calm their nerves to deliver their Stories of Singapore to an appreciative audience. What an achievement after weeks of practise!

YMCA SCC@DLS’s first Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) took place in December. The objective of this programme is to cultivate social entrepreneurship among the young. Our students planned, made and sold their product to raise funds for the needy students in the school. This enabled them to experience the joy of putting in effort for a good cause.

In Term 4, our students had week after week of fun while learning how to make percussion instruments from recycled materials. They then had a chance to make music with these instruments.

Enrichment Programmes : Robotics, Choral Beats & Cup Stacking Robotics: Our Robotics programme is in line with the school’s Co-curricular Activity programme. This is a big hit with our students

The Robotics enrichment programme encourages creativity, reasoning and logical thinking. Our students learn the theory and practical aspects of sequencing. The programme encourages teamwork, and develops confidence and presentation skills.

This was one activity the students looked forward to every week. The decibel level increased with the fun and excitement, especially from team challenges. Cup Stacking develops physical skills, hand-eye coordination and focus. It also promotes self-confidence and teamwork.
