In-House Enrichment Programme Term Three – Junior Engineers @ Work We were delighted to have Instructors from an external vendor to teach our students about Robotics! They had super fun in putting together the Lego bricks and the electronic components to work and what excitement it created when the robots starting working!! Term Four – Choral Beats

Junior Engineer Hamizah (P4)and her robot

Choral Beats was conducted in Term 4 as part of the weekly enrichment programme. Students were taught the principles behind Rhythm and Rhyme. Not excluding the children made their own instruments using household items such as tissue boxes, beans and bottles. With all that music, we had to have Sing-alongs as well! Our students were so inspired that we had them bring along their own musical instruments to play for us!

PAGE 3 June School Holiday Programmes Junior BMT Camp Workshop Our little soldiers discovered how it felt to be an Army Personnel! They had cameo paint on their faces and learnt how to throw a make-believe grenade! How impressive! They did leopard crawls and saw the rations that our soldiers had to eat while outfield in the field…It got them to appreciate the hard work of being a soldier for sure! Our Nation’s Heroes! Keeping up with the Theme of Soldiers… our teachers created presentations on our different Defence teams! It was heart- warming to see the look of pride on our students’ faces as we described and related the importance of our Armed Forces, Navy, Civil Defence, Police and Airforce. The students realised that each team hold a tremendous responsibility in keeping our country safe and sound!

December School Holiday Programmes Week 1 – 2: 21 Nov to 2 Dec Theme: Out At Sea

Our little pirates posing in their DIY costumes!

It’s Michael (P1) against Renee (P2) on the plank!

How many of us have imagined ourselves to be pirates when we were young? It’s time to let our students be one now! How exciting to go across the ocean without getting our feet wet! Yahoo!!

We arranged for a two-day adventure workshop ‘Pirates! Raiders of the Seas’ on 28th and 29th November 2016. Going on a treasure hunt and walking the mathematical plank, students learnt how to create their own map using a self-made geo board and they also made their own compass. Additionally, the students learnt about the wonders of the ocean and the millions of marine animals and plants species! Week 3 – 4: 5 Dec to 16 Dec Theme: True Friendship, Real Happiness

Adillah (P4), Qian Ning (P3) and Jing Hui (P3) designing their own seascape with cupcake liners. 

Friends are an important part of everyone’s lives and having them increases our chances of being happy! Students learnt about the building blocks of friendship through better social skills. We imparted knowledge and techniques on how to be confident, sociable and kind to others. We aim to make our students develop genuine friendships that last a lifetime! To bring the theme closer to our students, we brought the students out on a movie outing to watch Trolls! They had fun joining two Trolls called Poppy and Branch on their journey full of adventure and mishaps to rescue their friends! Group photo after the movie!

Everyone eagerly waiting for their entrance tickets!

Do you know that there are only about 3000 tigers left in the world? Tigers and thousands of other endangered species may soon become extinct. Our students enjoyed themselves during the learning journey to River Safari, where they had the opportunity to come up close to over 6000 animals! They learned more about what is causing animals to be endangered and what they can do to save and protect these endangered animals.
