We also included Reflections and Habits of Minds. The first allowed children to reflect on what they had learnt from the Character Development lesson, and the other provided them an opportunity to show their appreciation to parents, mentors and family, and give suggestions to make a difference.
Caring : Community Awareness - by our little ones at JWSC1 during the December school holidays.
Imagination Gone Wild! Imagination Gone Wild aims to cultivate in our children an interest in new arts and knowledge of arts. YMCA SCC @ Jurong West One Newsletter (July 2017 – December 2017) Celebrations @ YMCA Racial Harmony Day and National Day 2017 Following tradition, we encouraged children to dress up in ethnic costumes to commemorate Racial Harmony Day. It was really great to see many children all dressed up in colorful clothes of various ethnic groups. All in all, both National Day and Racial Harmony Day allowed us to take stock of what it means to be Singaporeans, and to be confident as a nation as we collectively work together to face challenges ahead of us, regardless of race, language or religion.
Jamie, Jayda and Cayden were awarded best dressed in the “Traditional Costumes” competition.
Happy Teachers’ Day 2017:Right – P1 student, Poh Jun Xun showed his appreciation to his mentors through his drawing on the right.
2017 Children's’ Day - Definitely the most unforgettable! Celebration reached its climax when the children had great fun participating in songs and games after a hearty lunch treat. Children were also given opportunities to build team spirit at outdoor challenges in a series of interactive challenges for all to complete against each other – Hula Mania, Catch Me Not, Skip and Search, etc. and certainly with an overdose of fun.
