Week 1: Love and Peace is all Around

students are busy designing their Peace Lanterns!

Students learnt the importance of maintaining peace through our Peace Lantern programme. The students made beautiful lanterns which will be sent to Hiroshima YMCA for the annual Peace Lantern Ceremony held on 6 August. We also went on our very first outing to watch “Awake LOVE Orchestra”! We are very fortunate to be able to take group photographs with the cast of “Awake LOVE”. Another outing was to watch the movie “Angry Bird”. This was well received by our students too! Even after the movie, everyone was still very excited about ‘Red’, the Angry Bird!

We had so much fun during the last week of the June School Holidays learning about what we should do to protect Mother Earth from harm. Firstly, we had a mini ‘Fashion Show’ where students were divided into groups to dress one of their friends as their selected marine animals. After that, our little models did a ‘Fish Walk’ and teachers chose the most creative design as the winner! As requested by our students, we had another round of mini Telematch again! This time round, all the materials used were recycled from used plastic cups, old cereal boxes, used drinking bottles, old newspapers, yakult bottles and drinking cans. These materials transformed into interesting challenges for a whole afternoon of fun and excitement!

Miller (P1), Eng Kiang (P4), Shernice (P5), Caeden (P1), Ethan (P1) and Bernice (P1) are from the winning team for this mini Fashion Show! Can you  guess which marine animal we chose?
