A Tribal Adventure

During the ‘Trick your Mind’ workshop held in the March Holidays, the students learnt about optical illusions. It’s about how the brain tries to interpret what we see and make sense of the world around us.
The first workshop to kick off the mid-year holidays was ‘A Totem Adventure’. During this workshop, they learnt about the different tribes and indigenous peoples of the Americas.

Science? Magic?

During the ‘Is it Science or Magic’ workshop the students get to try out different experiments and learnt about how certain solutions can have reactions with some common household items.
At this workshop, the students learnt the differences between a kaleidoscope and periscope. They then get to design and make their own too!

At My Little Giant, the students enjoyed themselves thoroughly playing at the indoor playground going through different obstacle courses and going down slides.

A lesson in History
For a good cause
Viewing the exhibit on the Singapore racial riots that happened in 1964

We visited the Former Ford Factory where the students viewed the exhibits on the events and memories surrounding the British surrender, the Japanese Occupation of Singapore, and the legacies of the war.
For the third year running, our students participated in the Y Junior Entrepreneurship Programme. Through this event, our students learnt the value of teamwork, being companionate and giving back.

Stack! Stack! Stack!
Be Kind Always
The ambassadors doing their part by keeping the environment clean
Introducing the primary 1’s to sports stacking
To help build a gracious Singapore, we selected eight ambassadors from our SCC to partake in the Seed Kindness Fund Junior 2018. The aim of this is to promote and spread kindness within the community. Through this, the ambassadors worked together and showed compassion towards others.
Y Sport Stacking Competition 2018 was held on 19th June at our YMCA HQ. The students had practiced long and hard for this event and participated in the singles, doubles and relay categories.
