The start of the school year is always a moment of great anticipation and excitement. Our mentors have strived to make SCC a home away from home by assisting the students in their homework and inculcating Character Building Programmes to reinforce the school values. We also have our own signature Enrichment Programmes to develop life skills and showcase their hidden talents!

Hands-on fun! We kicked off the first half of the year with light- hearted handson activities. Some of which included the “Snow white and the 7 dwarfs coloured masks”, paper quilling and drawing competitions for the students. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they put their artistic talents into practice!

YJEP is one of the Enrichment Programmes we have in term 1 with the aim of imparting entrepreneurial skills to our students. It is a great chance for students to put on their creative caps and showcase their talent in art! This year, we did four amazing products in line with the theme ‘Fairy Tale’. Students get to transform recycled materials such as cardboard, tote bags and old t-shirts into new products with fairy tale theme. They include: beautiful transcendent pencil holders, enchanting moments photo frames, handmade mystic tote bags and sweet dreams cushions. On the left, the mentors together with Xin Yee are working on the recycled pillowcase and crafting calligraphy on it.

Seed Kindness Fund Junior We aim to inspire one kind act at a time. By sparing a thought for the people around us, we hope to create a gracious society. Practicing kindness is beyond home. Our students went to the streets of Tiong Bahru and made the bus drivers, stall owners, cashiers and elderly in the neighbourhood smile! They gave them handwritten cards, flowers and chocolates to show that they are being appreciated for their hard work! Handwritten cards made by our Upper Primary students.

Y SPORT STACKING This is one of our niche programmes in YMCA and students will always get excited to be part of the different rounds. There are various rounds where students will be participating with competitive timings. This takes a lot of practice and composure throughout the competition. They need to exhibit exemplary hand, eye and body coordination with speed!
P2 Lucas Ang clinched the 1st runner up in the 3-3-3 individual category. Good job Lucas!
P2 Aida and Genevieve doing the doubles category. Our very own Ms Eema hosting the cup stacking competition!

IMAGINATION GONE WILD This programme encourages our students to think out of the box and work with the different themes given to them every week. They enjoyed the brainstorming sessions and put on their creativity onto the papers given. It was challenging to work with just three colours to come up with the picture they have visualised but our students did well!
