Resilience & Sustainability On behalf of the YMCA Board and membership I wanted to thank you for your past support and let you know about our plans.

Over 700 kids learn through play at YMCA Child Care Centres, helping them get the right start in life and become better prepared for schools. There are barriers to healthy living - that is why we provided over 167,000 in direct financial assistance to those who need it most

In most years our annual report describes the work we have done, the impact we have had and our plans for the future. This is clearly not a normal year. The worldwide pandemic has undoubtedly had impacts with you and your own family. Just as individuals, families, communities, and nations have been challenged by the COVID-19 Coronavirus, this global pandemic hit the Saskatoon Family YMCA hard. We shut down our gym, pool, and exercise facilities for an extended period, our daycamps were severely impacted, and we reduced our daycare services to essential service workers for several months. As you know, we have a resilient team of staff and volunteers who are committed to improving people’s lives and serving the needs of the community. During the pandemic we had small successes. We are fortunate to have opened a family resource centre that offers unique programs out of our Fairhaven location. We found new ways to raise funds to support our Strong Kids annual campaign including hosting a virtual Suits and Sneakers fundraiser in June. We had staff delivering programs online to adults and teens. We ran camp and fitness programs in the park. And we were working on ensuring that when we started to meet more needs we would do it in the safest and best ways possible. Cleaning standards are the best in the city. We need you to tell your friends and family about your positive YMCA experiences. And the greatest support you could give is by giving us some of your skills and passion. We need you to volunteer. Be a Strong Kids asker, help us tell your Y story, help with a project, become a policy or board volunteer, have your work team connect for a fundraising drive. So now we have a plan. And we have a way back. Our YMCA will be different than before, but we will focus on services we know the community needs more than ever. In order to do this we need your support. (con't) Pauline Melis, Board President
