problem |
more virtual = less in-person interactions and familiarity interaction with people in one’s own community
on the phone + laptop, very unapproacable, since he is obviously engaged in more than 2 things
on the phone + watch, also unapprachable.
using a laptop, no earphones nor talking on the phone, more approachable since she can clearly hear us if we do apprach to ask question. she is sitting down and not standing up also suggests that she may have time
no phone, no laptop, standing waiting in line is a pretty boring thing to do, and to pass the time, people usually strikes up small, random talk to another stranger.
people, in this case students, gather around the bulletin board, the source of information that are of common interests among its users it is easy to strike up a conversation or ask questions in this situation.
solution |
Combining individualistic digital systems for public services and public manual bulletin board People do not like to be excluded or ignored, hence when there is need to question, we look out for the most approachable and seemingly available, time and mind to help us out.

For this project research on human interactions is important. knowing the beody languages of people and how others may interpret them. Observation at public places becomes very important. The concept for the solution is a combination of situations or display that encourages the users to discuss things in a lighthearted manner and in the end be more aware of their surrounding people.
