ARTISTS OF YOKOTA I

n the summer of 2023, the 374th Force Support Squadron reached out to the community of Yokota Air Base to help fill the pages of the new 2024 calendar. The community answered back with an overwhelming amount of artistic talent showcasing the 374 FSS’s very own mascot, Samurai Fox. Thank you to the artists of Yokota for all the amazing submissions and congratulations to those who were selected!



MT. NYUKASA SNOWSHOE HIKING Located in the Nagano prefecture, snowshoe hiking at Mt. Nyukasa offers a tranquil trek through the powdery snow. Take in the stunning view of the northernmost edge of the Akaishi mountains, and if the weather is clear, Mt. Fuji will be visible too. Snowshoe hiking is the perfect way to experience the sights, sounds and snow of Japan’s beautiful Southern Alps. Sunshine City’s claim to fame is the nearly 800-foot tall Sunshine 60 Skyscraper. The complex contains shops and restaurants, an aquarium, planetarium, museum and an indoor theme park. The aquarium alone occupies the top three floors, housing 80 tanks with 37,000 fish representing 750 species. Exhibits include the Sunshine Lagoon, a tank that holds 240 tons of water, the Jellyfish Tunnel, and the Sunshine Aqua Ring for views of sea lions, penguins, and more!

DoD civilians and spouses are highly encouraged to attend both days but should at least attend Day 2 to learn about resources available to them.
