YOKOTA ITT TOUR POLICY

Yokota ITT tours are open to all SOFA status members/ DoD Card Holders, including active duty military, U.S. DoD civilians, retired military and their dependents. Sponsored guests of eligible customers may participate on ITT tours. Customers must be 18 or older to sign up for ITT tours. Participants 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Local National Employees and JASDF members may sign up for tours starting 7 days prior to the tour date on nonSOFA eligible tours.

Eligible customers are permitted to purchase up to ten tickets. For special tours, customers are permitted to purchase up to five tickets.

Please sign up for tours in person at the ITT office. Reservations over the phone or on Yokota FSS Travel Facebook Page are not accepted.

Please notify ITT staff of any special needs you or your family may have (e.g., wheelchair accessibility, physical or health disabilities, etc.)

Payment for the cost of the tour is due at the time of reservation. The ITT office accepts U.S. dollars, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and U.S. checks. Japanese yen is not accepted. Certain trips offer payment plans and will be indicated on the tour description.

Yokota ITT is not responsible for any accidents due to personal negligence or misconduct on tours. Yokota ITT is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings during tours.

Tour itineraries may change due to traffic and/or other uncontrollable circumstances. The itinerary may also change prior to departure. In the case of itinerary changes, the ITT office will notify passengers registered for the trip as soon as possible.

Trips may be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. If canceled, the ITT office will notify passengers registered for the trip as soon as possible.

Yokota ITT is not responsible for customers that cannot be contacted by their phone number or email provided

Please read the brochure’s tour descriptions thoroughly. There will be rest stops on all tours lasting over two hours. It is recommended that you bring enough yen to cover the cost of snacks and meals. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure time to allow yourself enough time to check in and find a seat. The bus will depart promptly on schedule.

Buses for all ITT tours depart from the parking lot between the Enlisted Club and building 2000. We ask that all passengers return to the same seat taken at the beginning of the tour and return to the bus on time as directed by the tour guide.

Parents must ensure their children are well behaved and do not disturb other passengers. Listening and/or watching videos, music, etc. is permitted with the use of headphones. Please refrain from talking on the phone while seated on the bus.

Yokota ITT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate group seating when requested. However, due to seating and ticket availability, this may not always be possible.

YOKOTA TOUR WAIT-LIST POLICY

A waiting list is available for tours that have reached maximum capacity. If there are any cancellations, ITT staff will contact those on the waiting list at most three times via phone. If there is no answer, ITT will move on to the next person on the list. Customers are responsible for making sure that the contact information provided is correct.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

All tour cancellations due to inclement weather will be determined by 4 p.m. the day before the scheduled tour.

Customers will be notified by 6 p.m. the day before.

For multi-day trips where inclement weather causes an overnight delay, customers will be responsible to pay the associated additional cost.

YOKOTA TOURS REFUND POLICY

• One-Day Tours

Refunds are provided for cancellations made four or more business days prior to the tour date. Cancellations made after four business days will not be refunded.

• Overnight Tours

Please see the tour brochure for the cancellation policy. In case of a TDY, TAD, exercise or recall, a written document (e.g., TDY orders or letter from squadron commander/first sergeant) must be presented prior to departure for a full refund. In the event that Yokota ITT has already purchased admission tickets, customers will have to pay for the ticket cost regardless of the reason for cancellation. Please have receipt ready at the time of refund. Refunds cannot be given 30 days after the event date.

ALCOHOL POLICY

Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed on ITT Tour buses.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

Please notify ITT staff of any special needs you or your family may have (e.g. wheel chair accessibility, physical or health disabilities, allergies, etc.)

We strive to provide accessible and enjoyable travel experiences for all our customers. However, some of our trips may not be suitable for individuals with physical disabilities due to the nature of the activities or the infrastructure of the destinations. While we will make every effort to accommodate customers with disabilities, we cannot guarantee that all aspects of the trip will be accessible.

This tour includes bus transportation and park admission. Ashikaga Flower Park is large flower park with flowers blooming from spring to fall and its famous winter illumination during the winter months. From May to mid-June, the park turns into a rainbow garden with Roses, Rhododendron and many other flowers. The Sano Premium Outlet is a shopping complex and home to over 180 stores with renowned domestic and international brands.

ENOSHIMA ISLAND

ITINERARY: Depart 8 a.m. Island 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Return 5:30 p.m.

Tour cost includes bus transportation. There will be a lot of walking on this tour.

Everyone will find something of interest here. Tourists come to this Enoshima Island to walk the pathways that lead to several ancient temples, botanical gardens, museums, parks, scenic overlooks, and a modern lighthouse at the top of the island. If you are not in great shape for the stairs and hills, escalator is available for a fee. A one-day pass is also available which includes escalator, Samuel Cocking Garden, Sea Candle and the Iwaya Caves. The classic view of Mt. Fuji as depicted on Japanese art can be seen from Enoshima on clear days.

Tour cost includes bus transportation, admission for the festival and lunch buffet. The entrance to the wind cave is very steep and can get very slippery with ice. It is advisable to have your hands free to enter the wind cave. *If the road to the 5th station is closed, the tour will go to Oshino Village instead.

The Fuji Shibazakura Flower Park at Lake Motosu, near Mt. Fuji, is one of the best places to see shibazakura flowers (pink moss or phlox moss in English). Located just south of Lake Motosuko in the Fuji Five Lakes area, the festival offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji with a vast shibazakura flower field in the foreground.

Approximately 800,000 stalks of shibazakura in five varieties create vibrant fields of pink, white, and purple hues. Festival stalls sell potted pink moss, shibazakura-themed souvenirs, local food, and produce, adding to the experience.

The Fuji Five Lakes region is also known for its volcanic caves, including the Wind Cave, which we will visit.The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, about halfway up the Yoshida Trail, starts at Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine at the base of Mt. Fuji. It is the most popular and well-developed of the four 5th stations, with easy access via public or private transport.

At 7,500 feet above sea level, the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station offers a breathtaking view of the Fuji Five Lakes, making it a popular stop—even for those not planning to climb the mountain.

NIKKO SPRING FESTIVAL

Tour cost includes bus transportation and admission to Toshogu Shrine. The food is primarily Japanese cuisine and festival foods.

Re-entry is not permitted at the shrine. The procession begins at 11 a.m., with the returning procession at 1 p.m.

Note: If the festival is canceled due to rain, this tour will become a Nikko Toshogu Shrine sightseeing tour.

The Spring Festival of Nikko Toshogu Shrine is held on May 18 each year. The festival’s main event is the Sennin Gyoretsu

(Procession of 1,000 Warriors), composed of various groups dressed in Tokugawa-period costumes. Nikko is one of Japan’s most popular national parks, attracting tourists for holidays and religious devotees visiting shrines and temples.

SUMO TOURNAMENT

Tour cost includes bus transportation and Sumo ticket for B seat, 2nd floor. There are steep stairs to get to the seats.

You may have watched it on television, but seeing it live is an experience like no other! It’s sumo—Japan’s unique national pastime, known as “the sport of emperors,” combining ancient ceremony with the tremendous power of the wrestlers. In this traditional 15-day tournament, the wrestler with the most wins at the end is crowned champion. The Sumo Tournament is an exciting spectacle held at Ryogoku Kokugikan, Japan’s premier sumo-viewing venue.

MATSUMOTO CASTLE AND UKIYO-E WOODBLOCK ART MUSEUM

Tour cost includes bus transportation and admission to the castle and museum. This tour involves a significant amount of walking, including over 140 steep steps inside the castle. Visitors must remove their shoes before entering the castle.

Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan’s National Treasures, is the country’s oldest surviving castle donjon. Built in 1592, its elegant black-and-white design features three turrets. The castle’s striking black roof has earned it the nickname “Crow Castle.” Inside, visitors navigate steep stairs and low ceilings past armor and weapon displays from the Sengoku period (Warring States). Narrow wooden windows, once used by archers and gunmen, offer stunning views of the Japanese Alps, Matsumoto City, and the moat below, where koi and swans swim.

The Ukiyo-e Museum houses the Sakai family’s private collection, one of Japan’s best woodblock print museums. With over 100,000 prints, it is believed to be the largest of its kind, showcasing masterpieces from all known Ukiyo-e artists. The Matsumoto Open-Air Architectural Museum features historic government buildings from the Edo to Showa periods, including the former Nagano District Court building (1908).

Enjoy your day at Fuji Safari Park! See lions, African elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, deer, and many more rare and endangered species roaming free as you ride a bus along the Safari Road. The Jungle Bus allows you to see wild animals up close and even feed them through the wire-netted windows. At the park, walk through the Animal Village to view American black bears, California sea lions, Chilean flamingos, and many others. At the Friendly Animal Farm, Fureai-Bokujou, you can pet and play with curious, loving, and fascinating animals.

MEIJI SHRINE, TOKYO TSUKIJI MARKETS AND ASAKUSA TEMPLE

This tour explores key Tokyo landmarks and is perfect for a oneday getaway. You’ll visit Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji Market, and Asakusa Temple. Meiji Shrine is Japan’s most famous Shinto shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife. Visitors can participate in Shinto traditions, such as buying charms and amulets or writing wishes on an ema (wooden plaque). After Meiji Shrine, explore Tsukiji Market, often called “Tokyo’s Kitchen.” One of the city’s largest markets, its streets are lined with retail shops, restaurants, and local specialties. You may also find unique souvenirs. The final stop is Asakusa, home to Sensoji, a famous Buddhist temple built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via Nakamise Street, a historic shopping area offering traditional snacks and souvenirs.
