A Message from the President

At York College of Pennsylvania, we are very mindful of the concept of value. Inherent to our mission is a commitment to provide a high-quality, world-class private education that is financially accessible to our students and their families—one that prepares graduates for meaningful careers and purposeful lives. I will soon celebrate 10 years as President. During my tenure, it has been a privilege to guide the College’s advancement in envisioning the future of higher education and how to best serve our students and communities.

This has included the academic reorganization of our five schools, new and enhanced academic programs, our Center for Community Engagement and Marketview Arts in downtown York, the Graham Center for Collaborative Innovation, the York College Knowledge Park (currently under construction); and many other initiatives. Additionally, in 2017, the College launched its first-ever comprehensive campaign, EVOLVE, to provide financial support for our continued growth and commitment to serving our students. I am both humbled and heartened by the response of our community members who answered the call to participate in the EVOLVE campaign.

The stories in this year’s Philanthropic Investment Report highlight some of the many ways in which your support has transformed ideas into tangible items. They take the shape of valuable new spaces, scholarships, and programs; as well as partnerships with nonprofits and businesses in our community that provide opportunities for our students to learn best by “doing the work.” EVOLVE has rallied the collective efforts of students, parents, alumni, friends, trustees, and members of our faculty and staff. Regardless of your own level of giving, by making a gift to the College, you have made a deliberate decision to play a role in supporting both immediate needs and shaping our future. For this, we are incredibly grateful. Philanthropic investments are inherently benevolent; when given toward higher education, they become powerful tools and catalysts for engagement, innovation, and discovery. It is my sincere hope that you are proud of the support you have shown to the College. I am certainly proud of the returns it has yielded.
