EVOLVED
A Message from the Vice President of Development
Amid the excitement and significance of the first comprehensive campaign in our history—EVOLVE: The Campaign for York College—I appreciate the opportunity the writing of this report affords to share the results of the tremendous support of our Spartan Family. And it allows us to simply and sincerely say “thank you.” This is the purpose of the Philanthropic Investment Report. The EVOLVE Campaign, with its new $70-million goal, concluded at the end of the 2022 calendar year. While we don’t yet know what the final total will be, it is obvious that the Campaign has already been a success.
Before I continue, let me begin with a few announcements:
• April 12, 2023, we will host a jazz concert with the world-famous Brubeck Brothers on campus for our alumni and supporters;
• April 29, 2023, we will hold a picnic on campus for all of our wonderful donors to celebrate the completion of the EVOLVE Campaign;
• June 3, 2023 (York First Friday), we invite all of you to celebrate the 10-year tenure of our fantastic President, Pamela Gunter-Smith, at Marketview Arts in downtown York. (As part of this event, President Gunter-Smith and her husband, JL, will host an exhibit of Spartan student art that they have collected over the last 10 years.)
We hope you enjoy this year’s Philanthropic Investment Report. Dotti and John Fischer take you on a tour of the future Spartan Commons; the Alden Trust is recognized for their support of the Knowledge Park; Fran Polk talks about why she supports York College and her love of campus; and Kevin Jackson and Katie Leonard discuss their newly created scholarships to support Spartan students and their important role as new trustees. Additionally, Dianne “Danny” Thornton makes an announcement about a new accelerated Nursing program within the Dr. Donald E. and Lois J. Myers School of Nursing and Health Professions; we celebrate Madison Cook ‘24 and Julie Kulp ‘13 and their reasons for giving back to the YCP Community; Doug and Theresa Lehigh share their enthusiasm for the new Spartan tennis courts; and finally, we introduce you to YCP faculty and staff who give back to the College in many different ways.
For our alumni who have not been back on campus for a while, now is the time. You will be impressed. For our investors who have supported the programs highlighted in this report, we hope you take pride in your achievement. At York College, every contribution matters. Every investment reaps long-reaching benefits.
Thank you for your support of EVOLVE: The Campaign for York College. We appreciate all you do for our Spartans. When you look at the evolution of York College, we hope it makes you proud.
Thank you and Go Spartans!
With appreciation,
Troy M. Miller, CNP, CFRE Vice President, Development
