PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Our professional qualifications are all accredited courses by national Awarding Bodies. These courses are for those who are looking for professional development, career change or to perhaps work towards a promotion.
“
The camaraderie of the course has been fantastic, the teachers work-ethic, and effort has been greatly appreciated. I think doing skills practice has been great for personal development – I have challenged myself, and been challenged, and I now understand myself way better now, than I did before I started with York College. This course has absolutely given me the skills I need as a trainee counsellor, to hopefully go out into the world as a professional. I have a new appreciation for what person-centred counselling means as I work with people who have struggled on a professional and personal level during this pandemic, at College and on placement. My future plans include, continuing my work on Soundsphere magazine (and my new mental health and disability platform, Wobbling About and Rocking Out), armed with the core conditions of person-centred counselling to hopefully make me a better interviewer! I’d like to gain more experience in counselling and do some client work alongside my other responsibilities. The skills I have learned in the College will no doubt last me a lifetime, so I am very grateful. I’m really excited about the future.

“
A blended approach was perfect for me because I’m a mum and have to work, so it was perfect to only have to come to College for classes once a week, and to study online when I have the time.

ONLINE & ON CAMPUS LEARNING We appreciate that the pace of everyday life is getting faster, which is why we’ve looked for new ways of teaching – ways that make it easier to study alongside work and life commitments. York College have worked in partnership with Mindful Education to create a suite of blended learning courses that provide flexible study options, combining online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom. Online and on campus courses include: • AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting • AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting • AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting

I really enjoyed the training and thought the trainer was fantastic in terms of his witty personality and his ability to communicate effectively with the whole group. Stuart was well organised and he presented a training course that we were able to follow with ease, whilst affording sufficient time to ask questions. Excel Intermediate student

ACCESS YOUR ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION Access your degree or higher-level qualification with us and find your way to a prosperous career. The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is designed for people who do not have ‘traditional’ qualifications, such as A Levels, and for those who have been out of education for some time. If you want to go to university, but feel you might lack the entry qualifications, or are worried that you might not be able to cope with the demands of degree-level study, then an Access course can help. The Access to HE Diploma is widely recognised by UK universities, and many actively encourage applications from Access to HE students. Over 90% of our students progressed successfully onto higher education. Our current Access Programmes are: • Art and Design • Health Science Professions (online) • Pathways available: - Law - Education Professions - Social Sciences • Level 2 Pre-Access Humanities & Social Sciences* • Science • Policing • Medicine* Applicants must be 19+ on the 31st August the year they apply to study. Write off your loan: Student Finance England will ‘write off’ any outstanding Advanced Learner Loan balances you owe for an Access to HE course once you complete an eligible higher education course. This means you do not have to repay it.
Widely recognised : The Access to HE Diploma is widely recognised by UK universities, and many actively encourage applications from Access to HE students.
