DACH Leadership Strategy

DACH Leadership Strategy

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.

– 1 Corinthians 3:6, NIV

God’s Plan A to redeem and restore the world is to work through his people. There is no Plan B! There is no program or product that will create the transformation we long to see in our communities. God’s plan is always people.

As such, the DACH Region’s primary strategy is to raise local leadership across our four countries in the most strategic and resource-ready communities. Through fueling our volunteer movement to equipping our country directors and intentionally focusing on East Germany, we are seeking the financial resources to be able to continually development leaders who serve from a deep passion and calling.

The DACH Region is committed to establishing ministries that are locally owned through local leadership and local stewardship. We see a faithful remnant in Europe that is responding to the call of God on their lives and are ready to step into leadership roles for their ministry, area, and country. Let’s water the seeds the Lord has planted and soften this fertile soil.

Thank you for prayerfully considering make a generous contribution to this leadership strategy.

With faith, hope and love,

Emily Sandefur

Map, Tree, List

The simple tool of a MAP represents WHERE YOU ARE and WHERE YOU WANT TO BE – the kids, the schools, the neighborhoods you’re called to and praying for. Most of you have those in your heads – it’s also helpful to have in your pocket – to pray over and to share with those you’re inviting into eministry.

The LEADERSHIP TREE is a tool for living out of the Great Commission – Jesus’ charge to “go and make disciples.” The core principle revolves around identifying and discipling three people, who in turn identify and disciple three others. The tree captures what is true and best about Young Life: a network of spiritual relationships through which we are transformed and ministry grows.

MATTHEW 9:36-38 says, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” Creating a Matthew 9:38 list is a strategic way to PRAY FOR NEW LEADERS by keeping their names in front of us in the midst of our busy schedules. It is also a great tool for inviting committee and other leaders into the process of praying for and recruiting new leaders.

VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT

We see the mission of Young Life fueled by volunteers of every kind. From adults who gather behind the scenes to pray, give and support the ministry to those who are courageously entering into authentic relationships with young people, we long to invite, train and care for the volunteer movement across the DACH Region.

FULL-TIME STAFF

Our full-time staff represent the faithful remnant that God is using to transform communities across the DACH region. These youth ministry professionals maintain the highest standards of Young Life excellence while continuing to meet the needs of the communities where God has set their feet.

DEVELOPING GLOBAL LEADERS

Our Developing Global Leaders are the next generation of Christian leaders in the DACH Region. These universityaged adults are selected as a result of being exemplary leaders who have the potential to become some of the mission’s future senior leaders. Each cohort (or class), is supported with training, mentorship and practical ministry skills so that they become the global leaders God made them to be.

COUNTRY AND REGIONAL LEADERS

As Young Life DACH prays over and pours into our full-time staff, God raises up those who can represent and lead their entire countries (or regions) in the mission. These men and women have proven track records of ministry results, leadership development and vision for every kid and every community in their geography.
