The challenge of choosing a school Teachers are significant role models for children. In selecting a school you are deciding who to partner with for the education, and development, of your child. Education is more than gaining knowledge. It is learning how to respond to, and live out, that knowledge. For families in the Forest area of Sydney's Northern Beaches there are 29 schools to choose from. When Covenant Christian School on Forest Way opened in 1978 the pioneers wanted to provide an education consistent with their family beliefs. Though not started by a church, or a denomination, a minimum of 85% of enrolled families are practising Christians. Now with over 800 students, and families representing 125 churches, the school is a surprise to many. Providing Preschool to Year 12 on one site is very convenient for families who appreciate the consistency of community and educational perspective. The school has created six YouTube videos at www.whychristianschools.com.au for parents curious about Christian education. In mid 2013 a new Junior Library will become the central hub for the Primary School. Healthy treat perfect for any parties
Fruit Kebabs An old favourite that children will love. 2 punnets fresh strawberries 1 rockmelon 5 bananas bunch red globe grapes 1/2 watermelon 5 kiwi fruit approx 25 large wooden skewers Wash the strawberries and grapes Feel free to mix & use Peel the bananas and kiwi fruit and cut fruits that’s in each piece of fruit into 5 chunks/ slices season Cut the rockmelon and watermelon into large chunks. Thread 1 piece of each fruit onto each kebab and arrange on a large platter. Makes approx 25 skewers

2 punnets fresh strawberries tub strawberry ice cream 2 litres milk Add 1/2 punnet of strawberries to a blender with 3 scoops ice cream and 2 cups milk, blend until smooth and pour into small cups/ glasses. 4 batches of milkshake will make approx 30 small milkshakes
