appy Autumn Days!
As much as I love the long hours of daylight in summer, I have to admit autumn and spring are the most two beautiful seasons of the year. You reap what you sow. Autumn is the best time for harvest and reflection. Lilia is attending a ballet class on Saturday; it is more of a repetition of last year. To my surprise she is not bored at all; I did hesitate when signing her up for the same class again. It was a way of saying my child hasn't progressed. But now I am happy that I had the courage, the courage of facing parenthood hurdles, when my little one just needs to take her time. Lilia has always been a bit later than other children. She took to age three to toilet train. When she was two, mums around me all started to train their children using the toilet. I panicked and tried to push her. Instead there were lots tears and yelling and frustration. She was just not ready for it. I have never been a patient person but since becoming a mum, I am learning the art of patience. Patience instils confidence in children; calmness in parents and harmony in the family. Do you agree? Kirill & Rachel

Many inside and outside play activities are offered, including painting, puzzles, home corner, climbing, sand and water play, games, riding bikes and dancing. Through these experiences, children learn how to express themselves and to discover the environment around them. The atmosphere at the HT Playhouse is quiet, loving and fun-filled. Small groups of children play and talk happily. You are invited to come along and see this for yourself! The cost for child care is $10.50 per hour. Children can be cared for up to 5 hours in any one day and 15 hours in any one week.
Program Director Enrolment with HT Playhouse is independent of enrolment in Huntingtower school.

Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten annual Open Day in May welcomes families
The newly renovated Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten (AMK) will be opening its doors to the community and showcasing its recent refurbishment at its annual Open Day in May. AMK is a community-based and not-for-profit service. Children who start their educa on years at AMK learn the importance of embracing different cultures, sharing within their peer groups, suppor ng their friends and families and becoming independent, curious and engaged learners.
AMK is well-reputed for its gorgeous outdoor learning space, a natural garden that flanks the kindergarten building and provides children with many different resources for play. The massive space also features a sensory area, digging patch, creek, a large covered sandpit, climbing areas, swings and an impressive slide. AMK – in both building and within its people – s ll embodies the same spirit that saw the local community launch the kindergarten in the late 1960s. AMK families are ac vely invested in the kindergarten and suppor ng their fellow parents, carers and children. It takes a village to raise a child and the families who are part of the AMK village are part for life.
