It will be all over by 24th March, and then it is the Easter Holidays! We have hardly finished our Christmas chocolates and it is time to stock up the Easter bunny chocolates. There will be lots of fun to be had egg hunting in backyards, how excited the kids will be finding a chocolate egg. I really like the first half the year as it is full of festivals. School kids will have their term 1 break, have you done your holiday planning yet? Some of us will be still working after the Easter Holidays. Why not try some holiday programs for your kids. We have a few local businesses offering programs, they will help you get your kids away from their iPad and make their holiday full of learning as well as fun. 新年刚过，我的一个好友在微信上发了一条说说，照片是他们家中国 年的各种装饰，配图文字是：“现在女儿终于很自豪地说自己是中国人 了！”他们的女儿今年三岁，是澳洲土生土长的二代移民，因为家里过年 浓厚的气氛，还有父母带着去看了各种过年表演，增加了自己是中国人的 认知，父母由衷高兴。 对这件事情你怎么看呢？我知道在这边的家长对于孩子的国籍认知有 不同的理解。有的家长从小就对孩子说，一定要跟别人说你是澳洲人，应 该为了自己是澳洲人而骄傲。有的家长一直在教育孩子中国的文化，为了 孩子不好好学中文伤脑筋，期盼听到孩子说出“我是中国人”的那一天。 孰对孰错？ 我认为没有对错。孩子的护照上写的就是澳洲籍，他认为自己是澳洲 人无可厚非。而且澳洲不好么？澳洲是一个环境美丽，崇尚自由的国家， 说出去不丢脸，如果孩子能做一个思想自由，无忧无虑的澳洲人，每一个 家长都应该由衷喜悦。可是我们都知道，他们身上流着中国人的血。我们 第一代移民总是对祖国有着割舍不掉的情结。中国文化源远流长，中国美 食世界闻名，中国有巍峨大山，有千年古庙，有江南小镇，有奇观美景， 何况中国的经济发展已经足够让我们在外国人面前抬头挺胸，骄傲地说 “我是中国人”。让孩子认识到他们是中国人，也是父母的一番心意。 其实国籍认知并没有我们想的那么重要，孩子觉得是哪个国家的人都 好。如果他以后长大去另一个国家发展，入了另一个国家的国籍，那也没 关系。我们并不应该强迫孩子去认知家长觉得“正确”的国籍。国籍只是 一个符号。孩子自己是一个怎样的人更重要。他们是独一无二的。他们很 幸运地拥有中国的血统，又生长在澳洲这样自由的国家，为什么我们要为 了他们认为自己是哪一个国家的人而烦恼呢？我们能做的只是引导孩子， 尊重他们的选择。毕竟，修身，齐家，治国，平天下。修身是第一步。如 果他无法认知自己作为一个人的价值和意义，那么根本谈不上归属感。反 之，如果一个孩子认可自己的价值，有奋斗的方向，那么他一定会有他的 归属感，这个归属感并不在国家边境之间，而是在他自己精神信仰里。
