Discovering Sports for our Younger Ones! Ready Steady Go Kids is a multi-sport program running 7 days a week in your local area. Designed by a paediatric physiotherapist and occupational therapist, the classes are structured to suit 4 different age groups between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old. The program teaches 10 different sports over 2 terms which helps the children develop a broad range of skills and build a platform of sporting knowledge. This also ensures the children remain interested and engaged throughout the entire program.
Ÿ
Ÿ
Ÿ Ÿ
The program not only teaches the children sporting skills but also a range of additional age appropriate skills including exploration, basic counting and colour concepts. Plus it encourages teamwork and sportsmanship, and helps to build social skills, listening skills and concentration.
Ÿ
Introduce pre-schoolers to a variety of sports in a structured, safe, inclusive and non-competitive environment. 6
Show pre-schoolers that sport and physical activity are fun, thus developing a lifelong passion for exercise. Develop and enhance age-appropriate gross motor skills, coordination and correct posture. Introduce and reinforce the importance of warm ups and stretching to help prevent injuries. Increase each child's confidence. Prepare children for school and participation in the broader community.
Ÿ
The classes are designed to focus on a specific gross motor hand-eye/foot-eye and/or balance activity to complement the sport component and our program structure is repeated each week so the participants become familiar and comfortable with the routine. The program objectives are as follows:
Ÿ
All Ready Steady Go Kids classes are held indoors so rain, hail or shine, our classes will still run. All of our coaches are energetic and make each class really fun. The program runs in line with the primary school terms and we offer all new children a FREE TRIAL. Why not book your trial today and see why hundreds of other local children are loving our program each week? For further information and to book your spot for Term 1 please visit:

After School Snacks The words “Back to school” can be a relief, frightening or a bit of both. But when it comes to school lunch boxes and a er school snacks there aren't many parents who feel they have it totally under control. This feeling seems to be more common now with the increasing pressure to ensure your kids have healthy, waste-free, tasty, invi ng lunches and snacks. But the reality is… it shouldn't be that hard. And it's likely that your child doesn't care that much anyway! The most important thing is that you ensure your child has some fruit, some sort of salad or vegetable, some dairy (or alterna ve), some carbohydrate (e.g. bread, legumes, pasta, rice, potato, corn etc) and some protein each day. There is nothing wrong with a cheese and vegemite sandwich at lunch if that is all that your child wants as long as all the other food types are covered in the day at other mes. As always with kids, any stress, pressure or nega ve emo ons around food and ea ng can lead to a poor rela onship with food and longerterm issues with ea ng. Have an open conversa on around what food is and why it is important, and provide nutri ous op ons to eat, but pull back on the pressure to eat the amount that you feel is right. Leave por ons size up to your child.

spears, capsicum spears with hummus or tzatziki
Try this recipe for an easy and nutri ous summery snack:
3 ingredient Berry frozen yoghurt 1 cup Greek yoghurt A good me to get some nutri ous foods in is 2 cups frozen berries a er school. Kids are usually quite hungry and (any type) are more likely to accept a variety of foods. n 1 tbs honey (or to taste) Some simple ideas for high energy, highly nutri ous snacks are: Blitz all ingredients in a food blender or s ck n Peel a banana, insert a skewer inside blender. You can then put into moulds for icelengthwise, and freeze – eat like an icecream or in a tray to be served with a scoop. cream. You can do different versions of this Place in freezer overnight – and serve! such as frozen grapes, stone fruit or watermelon pieces with toothpicks inserted n n n
