Eligibility As part of the recruitment process, priority will be given to applicants who live in a YHN home. If you have already been employed by YHN as an apprentice or trainee unfortunately you will not be eligible to apply for this programme. About the role This role at Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) will give you an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experiences in working with vulnerable customers. The role will be based within our Ostara Team, who provide a responsive service across Newcastle for vulnerable customers who have fallen or feel unwell, to help them sustain their tenancies and live independently in their own homes. This will be a great step for a career in our Ostara Team or in areas such as Care, Support or Social work. The apprenticeship will give you a good understanding of how the team operates day-to-day and will allow you to get involved in tasks such as: • • • •
Providing support to Ostara Responders in customers’ homes. Contact customers by telephone to update information YHN holds about them Supporting programmes designed to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable customers who receive our support. Maintaining accurate records and information.
About the person We are not looking for someone with lots of experience, however you need to have an interest in working with vulnerable customers. It would be an advantage if you already have a driving licence or are working towards one, however this is not essential. We will be looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and behaviours: • Being motivated to develop and pass college assignments • Having a clear interest in working with vulnerable people

Excellent levels of timekeeping and attendance. Excellent level of customer service (polite, friendly, helpful). Good level of literacy and good communication skills.
