‘Sure-bet’ to

BEAT THE HEAT! Neha Pasricha Batra “In summer time when the weather is high. You can stretch right up. And touch the sky”. The song I always hum when the Sun is at highest peak and there is no sign of cold winds blowing. Summer is that seasonal sojourn when you long for lazy vacations, cold drinks and goodies. The signs are not hard to ignore and they are manifested in the parched throats and dry eyes of people seeking shelter from the merciless solar onslaught. This season that can make or break soft drink makers' annual plans, is welcomed by most people young and old.

During this time when holidays are planned, summer camps are organized, relatives are visited and all open spaces become playgrounds supporting a roaring multitude obsessed with the gentleman's game, the need for an easy to make, refreshing, healthy and economical thirst quencher is universally felt. Thought there are a thousand homemade heat-beaters suggested by parents and elders ranging from the mundane to the exotic. Of all these one of the most effective is the ubiquitous and simple Sorbet or Italian

Ice. It makes the perfect desert when the temperature rises. Made with Fresh seasonal fruits and sweetened water a sorbet is different from slush and Icy Granitas. Sorbets can have milk products but is different from ice cream as no air is whipped into it. Its summer so one cannot forget the mangoes the king of fruits and watermelon the juicy delectable fruit. Mark Twain once commented “When one has tasted watermelon, he know what the angels eat”. And when these two fruits are used to make Sorbets it will surely act wonders.

The Spanish Way LEARN ABOUT THE THREE MOST SOUGHT-AFTER MOJITOS

Mail Rachana Pathak onrachanapathak02@gmail.com

Rachana Pathak Mojito are the minty cocktails that have earned a name for themselves being a hit on the cards especially during summers. And the drinks enjoy this lime light because of their exquisite mint essence that has a vitalizing effect on your senses when the summer heat has almost killed your soul! Mojitos are a cocktail in the true sense because their after-effects are a mixed bag of upshots! You feel refreshed, soothed and relieved from the heat- all at the same time! The mojito has a Cuban origin, and the traditional form of the cocktail consists of five principal ingredients viz. white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and the key ingredient- mint!! With an ever thirsty foodie soul, people kept on improvising on the traditional drink and went on to making different kind of mojitos- strawberry mojito, blue mojito, kiwi mojito and so on! Along the evolution of this cocktail it also got customized to suit the tastes of teetotallers. So the spirit part of the cocktail got replaced with the juice counterparts, still maintaining that charm of the drink! So amigos if you see a mojito on the menu, do take a shot at trying that drink to beat the heat this summer, the Spanish way!

Strawberry The strawberry mojitos are a hit among the ladies, as for the individuals who hail from Mars it's an average beverage because they have a tendency of pushing away anything with a tag of strawberry on it! But trust me guys the drink is really worth a try!

Get Out! ROAMING AROUND HAS MORE ADVANTAGES THAN YOU THOUGHT Bhumika Gupta

All of us are very busy and we have more than what we can do in one given day. However simple or insignificant the act of stepping out of the house may seem it can do wonders to one's health. Think your mental and physical health is disturbed and needs help, being outside can be an excellent solution to your problems. Let me first explain to you what being outside means. Being outside holds simple connotations like going out for lunches, dinners or a small snack with either family or friends or both. Roaming around in the market with a person with whom you feel utterly comfortable is also a great way to let your stress and tensions out. Sitting in the park for sometime, or next to the stream, or fishing at a river are also few of the options. So, move that butt and take a stroll outside not just for the much hyped about enjoyment but more so for the mental and physical health and for the regeneration of your entire being. Here are some advantages you can reap from roaming aboutYOURS YOUTHFULLY JUNE 2012

5

IMPROVES YOUR FOCUS

Sometimes, to clear you mental health, all you need is proper and more directed focus. One of the best ways to do this is by stepping outside your house and schedule. The natural and fresh breeze lets you regain confidence and focus naturally and take you away from all the stress and troubles in your life. Even a good walk in the lap of nature would give you the energy to focus again and work more effectively.

2

RELEASES TENSION REDUCES STRESS

Believe me or not, as soon as you will step out of your house, your stress will just melt away, reviving and refreshing you as never before. A simple exercise for someone who works on the desk between the four walls of a building is to just go out to the terrace, balcony or even to the parking lot and breathe in some fresh air. This will rejuvenate you and help you regain all your lost energy. You will be back on the table fresher!

REASONS TO

ROAM! 3

SUNLIGHT, A CURE TO ALL HEALTH PROBLEMS The valuable Vitamin D provided by the Sun is all that you need not just to cure health problems but also to prevent any in the future. Sunlight is a precautionary as well as a curative solution to all your maladies. Vitamin D in our body is essential for the absorption of a very imperative mineral, namely, Calcium. It is also responsible for a very grave part of our life, determining our mood.

4

WEIGHT LOSS, MAYBE!

Going outdoors is not just good for your mental health but can also be salubrious for one's physical and bodily health. Moving about increases digestion, surly more than sitting at one place does. A little activity is essential for the body and going outdoors can accelerate the process of losing weight and staying fit.

Photographer: Amartya Sen

5

BRIGHTEN UP THAT MOOD

As has been said earlier as well, roaming about outside can give you the required fresh air and Vitamin D. Inhaling some fresh air regenerates a person and gives them the strength to work with a better mood. Roaming around would uplift one's mood and then there would be no need to slog through your files. It gives a feeling of being happier instantly.

20 MINUTES:

The fitness landscape in India is changing for the better, as more and more folks are getting aware about the importance of being fit and healthy. Many guys wish of transforming themselves from farex babies to strong and powerful men. They enrol themselves into the gym but somewhere due the hectic lifestyles, they do lose interest and drop out. There is a silver lining though, newer workouts have emerged which pack a punch within minimalistic time. One such workout is a successive set of exercises performed with fewer repetitions and little or no rests. They cut the flab, and increase your metabolic burn and are a boon for your fitness portfolio as they demolish your savings, smoke up your entire body giving you more lean mass. You will need a pair of 7 kg dumb-bells and a lot of intensity for this 20 minute session of sweat and grunts. The session aims at tiring out your whole body in return for cuts your girl will admire. The exercise has to be performed in each round as superset (back to back without rest). Start with eight reps of each exercise, and one less in each successive superset. Grab your breath for 90 seconds between rounds.

ROUND 1 DUMBBELL STRAIGHT-LEG DEADLIFT Hold a pair of dumbbells in front of your thighs with your feet hip width apart and your knees width apart and your knees slightly bent. Hinge forward at your hips, lowering your torso until it's nearly parallel to the floor. Pause, and return to start.

DUMBBELL ROW Holding two dumbbells (let the dumbbells hang at arm's length), bend at your hips and knees and lower your torso until it's nearly parallel to the floor. Now bend your elbows and pull the dumbbells to your sides. Pause and slowly lower them. Supersets:8 Reps per set: 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 YOURS YOUTHFULLY JUNE 2012 16

Sex

MAKE ANY WOMAN WANT YOU

SEXUALLY Bhumika Gupta Well, it is very conveniently accepted that men are supposed to know how to make a girl sexually attracted to them. It might be a great revelation to most of us, but men are never taught these things and most men have no idea about these things. The average guy, like our male friends, colleagues and husband know very little about these things. Men do get lucky at times, but most of the times they are not able to make women feel sexually attracted to them at all. But this does not mean there aren't any ways or tips by which men can make their female counterparts desire them sexually. There are a few golden rules and here they go. Although there are various tips but just like simple arithmetic one needs to know the basic before they climb to the higher levels.

MAKE HER WANT YOU

1

Create the first spark by using your eyes. Almost all women out there when talking about a guy they like mention his eyes and the way he expresses through his eyes. Women do check out men's eyes and if you know the correct way to make eye contact and use it in your favour, half the game is won. You might just end up making her feel as if you are the sexiest guy on the planet then.

Using a bit of sexual innuendo and imagery would not cause any harm. An effulgent way to

2

make a woman feel sexually attracted to you is to make her imagine all the things that you can do to her. When talking to her, throw around, her and there a few sexual innuendoes and you have her in your bag. But remember, a word of caution here, make sure you use this tip within limits as too much of sexual innuendoes could work the other way around for you.

3

Tell her she is Hot – But refrain from being too complementary. Remember and exercise caution with this tip as well.

Go very light on complementing her. Convey it to her, complement her but do not drool over her. Tell her she is hot and let her say it back to you, but remember, this rule also come with a limit attached with it. The last tip for this would be sexting but only if you are friendly with her and are sure she would not get offended by it. If you are friendly with her go ahead sext along, but never cross the line. You should know the right time to draw a line.

STYLE STATEMENT Model & Anchor KHUSHI BHAT tells us what she feels about style!

Cover Feature YOU HAVE WON MISS. PUNE IN 2009, WERE AMONG THE TOP TEN FINALISTS FOR MISS. INDIA FROM PUNE AND HAVE DONE A NUMBER OF FASHION SHOWS TOO. YOU'VE ACHIEVED QUITE A LOT. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? That was the time when i was doing modelling part time. I began full time modelling one year back and did many things in just one year, like fashion shows, reality shows and music videos. I've been a part of Kingfisher show top 16 from India for fast and gorgeous, and amongst top 12 in Formula One which was a worldwide achievement for me. There are a lot of things which I did in just in one year and I feel great about it because this is something which I always wanted to do. And I have pretty much achieved success in this span of time. So I feel great about it and love it. WAS IT PERCHANCE THAT MODELLING CAME YOUR WAY OR WERE YOU, EVEN AS A LITTLE GIRL A POSER INFRONT OF THE SHUTTERBUGS AND THE MIRROR? (Laughs) Yes when I was a little girl, I always used to pose in front of the mirror and used to take Mom'ss stuff and tried to look as

beautiful as I could. But I never thought that I'll become a professional model one day. So yes, you can say that it was by chance, just happened. YOU HAVE A VERY CHARMING FACE AND A SVELTE BODY, QUITE THE PREREQUISITES REQUIRED FOR BEING A MODEL, BUT WHAT ACCORDING TO YOU MAKES YOU OUTSHINE THE REST? Well apart a beautiful body and a charming face, what makes me different is my personality. So my personality is what defines me as a person, be it personally or professionally. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS OF TAKING MODELLING TO THE NEXT LEVEL? WHAT ABOUT FILMS? I do have plans to take it to next level, Bollywood, but right now I'm focussing more towards myself and waiting for the right opportunity. WHOSE FOOTSTEPS DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD WANT TO FOLLOW? OR WOULD YOU WANT TO CREATE A NICHE OF YOUR OWN? I want to create a niche of my own because till now whatever I have done, it is all my hard work and dedication towards my work. But if I

have to follow someone in Bollywood it would be Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan. According to me they have real talent and have achieved name and fame on their own. AS I MENTIONED YOU HAVE A SVELTE BODY AND IT MUST BE A HERCULEAN TASK TO KEEP THOSE EXTRA OUNCES OFF. TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR FITNESS REGIME. I am very health conscious, though I eat as much as my body needs because I am too lazy to work out. But to tone my body I do push-ups or crunches at home. KHUSHI, HOW WOULD YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL, DEFINE 'FASHION'? Well fashion according to me is all about your style statement. And I love styling myself. I try different colours and because of my fair complexion I usually go with dark colours. And my style statement works. It comes out to be fashion the next day. HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR YOU TO KEEP PACE WITH NEW TRENDS? Well it's the time when we have to keep up with the trends. And keeping pace with new trends actually helps you to know what's in and what's not. So by doing that, it helps you to keep pace with the upcoming fashion or trends.

YOURS YOUTHFULLY JUNE 2012

Cover Feature WHAT ACCORDING TO YOU ARE THE 'HAVES' AND 'HAVENOTS ' IN ONE'S WARDROBE, ESPECIALLY FOR SUMMERS? In summers one needs to have cotton clothes in the wardrobe. Whether you are off on a holiday or simply looking forward to a new weekend look, constructing your summer wardrobe this season is a breeze. Pick one of the season's key trends as your starting point -floral prints and peasant chic, stripes, nautical chic or flamenco style are all the hottest looks of the moment. Try sweet little posies printed or embroidered on a floaty blouse paired with jeans at the weekend and worn under a linen suit to the office. A floral dress is just the ticket for most occasions from a picnic in the park to a wedding. Wear cotton or linen in the day and silk at night. White trousers, white t-shirts are in so that could be good for summers. Avoid black in day time in summers. LIKE ANY OTHER GIRL YOU MUST BE IN LOVE WITH YOUR CLOTHES AND MAKE UP KIT BUT WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITES? Yes I love my clothes and my make up kit. I love my floral print dresses and my Mac make up kit. But summers I usually keep myself in a very casual look with a very light make up. DO YOU BELIEVE THAT A PERSON'S HAIR CAN MAKE OR BREAK ONE'S LOOK? HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SUMMER TEMPERATURE IS SOARING?

Yes hair can make or break your look and sometimes if you are not taking care of your hair it can turn out to be a disaster. I love my long hair so usually I love keeping my hair open. But in summers I go for a puff and then a pony tail. It gives you a simple yet elegant look. IN A CAREER LIKE YOURS, TIME IS A CONSTRAINT AND LOOKING FRESH AND GLOWING MANDATORY. DOES THE CLEANSING, TONING, MOISTURIZING ROUTINE WORK FOR YOUR SKIN TOO OR DO YOU HAVE A CONSUETUDE OF YOUR OWN? Yes cleansing, toning, moisturizing in everyday routine does help to some extent but to get that natural glow on your skin one has to take care of proper diet. Like I take prunes early in the morning every day. It helps you to get a fresh and a natural glow on your skin. WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE 'SIZE-ZERO' HULLABALOO? I think size zero was in for a limited time. And it does not give that classy a look to every girl. One should not go for slimness. The best thing is to tone your body and carry yourself in a classy way. To be in shape is more important.

WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON WARDROBE MALFUNCTIONS? HOW SHOULD A PERSON REACT TO THAT? Wardrobe malfunctions do happen. But I believe that at that particular moment a person does not have to react because in very few situations you get time to sort out things whereas mostly you do not. The reaction should be very normal. IN THE END, KHUSHI, IS THERE ANY ADVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE ALL OUR READERS IN TERMS OF FASHION AND FITNESS THIS SUMMER? I would like to say that one should dress according to the fashion and take care of their style statement because the weather is heating up. Take care of your skin. Drink loads of water. Eat healthy to get that flawless and glowing skin. Believe in yourself. Because the one who desires is the only one who deserves. Tanya Gaffney

The Stripe Talk GET ‘STRIPPED’ AND STYLISH THIS SUMMER

Follow Tanya Gaffney on Twitter-

@TanyaBGaffney

Tanya Gaffney From Kim Kardashian to Malaika Arora Khan, all these style divas are 'Stripe Walking' this summer. Hot in the world of Fashion, Stripes are back to make a statement. Wearing stripes can be very dicey. It can on one hand make you look slender and enhance your figure, on the other hand, it can make you look a little comical. The most vital part of wearing stripes is what you would team up your stripes with. Always wear stripes with a solid colour. For example, if you're wearing a striped tee, team it up with a pair of plain denims or if you're wearing a striped skirt, couple it up with a plain tee. Well, there are different stripes for different body types. You go right with this one and trust me you're all set to be a head turner! Quite contrary to what the Fashion Police says, “ vertical stripes makes you look slimmer and horizontal stripes makes you look broader” lead researcher Thomas Peterson said “Horizontal stripes don't make you look fat. The one

wearing the vertical stripes looks wider than the one wearing horizontal stripes. Horizontal stripes, if anything, make you look thinner. "We carried out a number of experiments both with squares and oblongs and pictures of women wearing horizontal and vertical stripes (before coming to the conclusion).” In fact, in their study, the researchers at University of York asked a group of people to compare more than 200 pairs of images of women in a variety of stripy combinations – the horizontal stripes were judged more slimming. It revealed that when the two women were of the same size, the one wearing the horizontal-striped dress appeared to people to be the thinner of the two by six per cent, The Daily Telegraph reported. Does my bum look big in this? Handout image issued by Dr Peter Thompson who carried out the research which found the horizontal stripes created an optical illusion that made women

appear slimmer. “Our conclusion is that there is precious little evidence to support the idea that horizontal stripes make us look fat,” said researcher Dr Peter Thompson. “On the contrary, we should probably avoid vertical stripes.” The York University psychologist said it was unclear why the orientation of stripes should have such an effect, although horizontal lines may create an illusion of depth, which reduces width. While it is uncertain when the idea that horizontal stripes are fattening took hold, the opposite - and now apparently correct - view was documented 150 years ago. German physiologist Hermann von Helmholtz noted in his 1867 Handbook of Physiological Optics that 'ladies' frocks with cross stripes on them make the figure look taller'. Some of his other observations which run contrary to 21st century wisdom - but have yet to be ruled on by scientists -

Fashion

include claims that putting furniture in a room makes it look more spacious and patterned wallpaper makes a room look bigger. Those confused about what sort of stripes are most flattering can take comfort in another rule of fashion - if in doubt, wear black.

Dr Thompson said:“Wearing black is a good thing, that one works. We know that a black circle on a white background looks smaller than a white circle on a black background. So, yes, you do want to wear black perhaps with a few horizontal stripes.

You can adorn that simple little tee of yours with a striped scarf or you can amplify your striped look by accessorising it. But, do not over do it. Remember, your motto is to look snazzy and not catastrophic. Get 'stripped' and stylish this summer. Cheers!

Overview: Handpicked Screenings of NFF 2012 THE NATION’S MOST REVERED FELICITATIONS IN THE FIELD OF CINEMA Akshay Singh The nation's most revered felicitations in the field of cinema were recently held in the capital. The awards look beyond the cash registers, the star attractions and aptly honour the exemplar performances, taut yet touching direction, poignant yet avant-grade stories, in Hindi, English and regional languages. The awards also shower laurels on mesmerising playback singing, eclectic lyrics and music, and superior technological advancements, without which the films would not have retained their flavour. The screenings of these films for the general public was held in the capital from June 1- June 6. In case, you have given the event a miss, here are the crème dela crème of the screenings.

INSHALLAH FOOTBALL Lang: Urdu-KashmiriEnglish Direction: Ashwin Kumar Award: Best film on social issues Inshallah Football is a moving personal narrative

of a father-son relationship, biting narrative of the hypocrisy of the Indian democracy, and a narrative of Kashmir, the aloof part of our Republic. Inshallah Football claims the space abdicated in deference to greater concerns of national sovereignty and security. The film was first banned then awarded an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Censors, despite being even handed, even gentle in its critique. The film tries to give a humane perspective to something that is seen as demonic.

I AM Lang: Hindi Direction: Onir Award(s): Best Hindi film & Best lyrics I Am is an anthology film that boasts of an explosive and ensemble cast that is brought together by the amalgamation of four eclectic stories. The film released in India in April 2011, but could not do well at the box office. The characters of the four stories are interwoven.

DEOOL (The Temple) Lang: Marathi Director: Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni Award(s): Best Feature Film, Best Actor and Best dialogue It is said that when it comes to art, language is not a barrier. Though the film has also been shot in English, even if you do not get the language, the performances would surely convey the message across. The line-up of actors is gob-smacking, Deool boasts of powerhouse of Marathi and Indian cinema in Mohan Agashe, Nana Patekar, Girish Kulkarni, Naseeruddin Shah, Sonali Kulkarni to name a few. The film ironically shows the wholehearted acceptance of commodification of religiosity in a land which is plagued by all the serious problems, and it does so with laughter that is only slightly laced with cynicism.

Spain heads to Poland and Ukraine looking to make history. If they succeed in winning the Euro Cup 2012 they will be the first team to hold three major trophies at a time. Spain are placed with Italy, Ireland and Croatia so it's not a tough situation for them but they have to be very careful of Germany and Netherlands as both the teams have special strategy for the Spanish team which plays a game based on short passes. FORMATION Spain's coach prefers a formation of 4-2-3-1 with two notional central midfielders and two wide men. While Sergio Busquets and Xabi Alonso are deployed in the mid-field, Xavi Hernandez is given

total creative license. He is architect of team's attacking endeavours, knitting the midfield to the attack with incredible ease. The key to Spain's success is the regularity with which the wingers cut inside to link up the attack, forcing the opponent to overload its defense. With their artistic football and amazing team spirit Del Bosque's men will be the hot favorite to make it to two in row. PLAYER TO WATCH David Silva. Stocky, direct, quick, powerful and just 22 years old. Silva has impressed in his debut season with Manchester City. He posses the exceptional vision and passing range that is hallmark of a successful

Germany SQUAD Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Tim Wiese (Hoffenheim), Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover).

Germany- let's start with Germany. They are a unit with a difference led by an affluent captain Philip Lahm who has emerged as a inspirational leader after guiding his club Bayern Munich to champions league finals he will be eager to make a mark in Euro Cup too. FORMATION As has become customary during Low's tenure, Germany should line up in a 4-2-3-1 shape. Some battles for starting berths are more obvious than others, Mario Gomez for example will be widely expected to replace Klose after the sort of season he's had so too Mats Hummels for Mertesacker. In midfield however, the selection might be a bit

trickier, Bayern's Toni Kroos has had a fantastic season and it's anyone's guess whether he'll get the nod over Real Madrid's Khedira to partner Schweinsteiger as the double pivot. PLAYER TO WATCH Mario Gomez. He can be nightmare for defenders with his pace and trickery. The ability to create and score spectacular goals makes Gomez a key component of Jochim Loew attack of euro 2012. He will be looking forward to combine well with his midfield partner to test the Dutch, Portuguese, and Danish defense in group of death.

Defenders: Holger Badstuber (Bayern Munich), Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich), Mats Hummels (Dortmund), Per Mertesacker (Arsenal), Bendikt Howedes (Schalke), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Marcel Schmelzer (Dortmund). Midfielders: Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Sami Khedira (Real Madrid), Lars Bender (Leverkusen), Ilkay Gundogan (Dortmund), Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich), Marco Reus (Moenchengladbach), Mario Gotze (Dortmund), Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid). Forwards: Mario Gomez (Bayern Munich), Miroslav Klose (Lazio), Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich), Andreas Schurrle (Leverkusen), Lukas Podolski (Cologne).

Netherlands option. With his injury worries a thing of the past and his left foot at its devastating best van' the man could well become the player of Euro 2012. SQUAD

Netherlands- the team is placed in group of death with Germany and Portugal and they have started their campaign on a dismal note when they lost to Denmark in the first match but still the group is wide open. FORMATION From a tactical vantage point, Bert Van Marwijk is doing a fantastic job and just like Germany, they should line up in a well suited 4-2-3-1 shape. The biggest positive for the Dutch coming into this tournament is Robin Van Persie's form and they will be crossing their fingers that uncertainty over his club future does not affect his overall concentration and form. However, Sneijder's current state will

be a major cause of concern as like most of his club team mates; he has endured a torrid season both in terms of form and results. De Jong, a regular first teamer for the national side lost his starting place at Manchester City and Dirk Kuyt suffered the same fate at Liverpool, it's as if events have been conspiring against the Dutch. PLAYER TO WATCH Robin Van Persie. After an impressive campaign with the Arsenal this year Robin Van Persie showed this time around why he will be one of the most feared forwards in Euro Cup 2012. His the ability to use both feel and head as scoring tools the Dutch man will offer his coach a different attacking

England PLAYER TO WATCH Joe Hart. Goalkeepers are not expected to outshine their outfield colleagues through a tournament but Joe hart is expected to outshine his colleagues. He has played every minute 2790 to be precise of every game for Manchester city this season and has had more clean sheets {13}than any other keeper.

England- For England defense is the best attack all of England first choice defense have won trophies with their club this season the list includes john Terry, Gary Cahill, Joleon Lescott and goalkeeper Joe hart so that is something England can be optimistic about. FORMATION It is expected that Roy Hodgson will go for the classic 4-4-2 combination. However, with Wellbeck still moving gingerly and Rooney suspended, his hand could be forced and with a tweak or two, England could end up lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation or something close to it. To expect anything more radical like a4-3-3 from the current England boss would be

SQUAD Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Man City), Rob Green na誰ve at best. The defense (West Ham), Jack Butland should be relatively (Birmingham City). straightforward except maybe for the right fullback Defenders: Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Man position. In truth none of United), John Terry the right-backs has been outstanding especially in as (Chelsea), Joleon Lescott (Man City), Martin Kelly far as defending is (Liverpool), Ashley Cole concerned. The choice will (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka vary depending on (Everton), Leighton Baines Hodgson's plan. Should he opt for a defensive approach (Everton). Midfielders: Theo Walcott then Man United's Phill (Arsenal), Stewart Downing Jones might make the first (Liverpool), Alex Oxladeteam otherwise Glen Chamberlain (Arsenal), Johnson should be the man Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), for the job. Johnson is Jordan Henderson definitely the better player (Sunderland), Scott Parker going forward which is (Tottenham), Ashley Young probably why he made the (Man United), James Milner line-up which leaves Jones and Richards and the United (Man City). Forwards: Wayne Rooney man's versatility probably (Man United), Danny gave him the edge over Welbeck (Man United), Richards. Andy Carroll (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham). Italy PLAYER TO WATCH Mario Balotelli. He may never have receive the sort of extravagantly lyrical praise that Andrea Pirlo or Xavi Hernandez do but Mario Ballotelli is no less the heart of the side he plays in. he will be his country big hope at euro 2012 the 21 year old had succesful season with his club Manchester City contributing 13 goals in 23 games on the way to title. Italy- Azzuri has been hit by another major scandal whenever they have been hit by these allegations they have hit back to win championship in 1982 as well as in 2006. Team has a good run during qualifying round where they remained unbeaten and conceded only two goals. FORMATION The Azzurri are renown for the Catenaccio style that has worked as an antidote to some of the most attacking sides form years past and as fate would have it, the draw pitted them against current World and European Champions- undeniably Europe's finest attacking unit. To get a result against Spain, Italy will have to bring their A-game in

defense and it's that very area of the pitch that could see Prandelli adopting a 35-2 formation. Prandelli reacted by trying out the 3-5-2 in training and there's an increasing likelihood of the Azzurri playing a 3 man defence in Gdansk this weekend. That's why the significance of Barzagli's calf problem that may keep him out of group stage action can't be down played. Ideally, it would be an all-Juventus back three which can only be good for the national side. Now, Davide Astori could come into the picture to plug the gaps created by Christian Maggio and Frederico Balzarretti's wanderlust. The pair is more accustomed to being given the freedom to maraud.

SQUAD Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Napoli), Sirigu (Paris St. Germain). Defenders: Abate (AC Milan), Balzaretti (Palermo), Barzagli (Juventus), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), Maggio (Napoli), Ogbonna (Torino). Midfielders: De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Bologna), Giaccherini (Juventus), Marchisio (Juventus), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Motta (Paris St Germain), Nocerino (AC Milan), Pirlo (Juventus). Forwards: Balotelli (Manchester City), Borini (Roma), Cassano (Milan), Di Natale (Udinese), Giovinco (Parma).

France PLAYER TO WATCH Karim Benzema. In him France has one of the exciting prospects in the world. Quick and direct the striker offers the French an option they don't have in Oliver Giroud and Jeremy Menez. He could inject the French side with some much needed dynamism.

France- France is placed with England, Sweden and Ukraine. The performance of the French team during qualifying round was good. Les blues has improved drastically since its abysmal 2010 world cup campaign. FORMATION Blanc has now settled on a 4-2-3-1 shape for the tournament. The questions for Blanc to ponder are mostly on the right side of the attack. M'villa, Cabaye and Nasri have formed a decent midfield understanding and Ribery and Benzema are definitely starters upfront but Les blues' coach is somewhat concerned, maybe even pensive about the number of goals from his forwards. Loic Remy complemented

Portugal SQUAD Goalkeepers: Eduardo (Benfica), Rui PatrĂcio (Sporting Lisbon), Beto (Cluj). Defenders: Joao Pereira (Sporting), Bruno Alves (Zenit St Petersburg), Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid), Pepe (Real Madrid), Ricardo Costa (Valencia), Rolando (Porto), Miguel Lopes (Braga). Portugal the team that is led by one of the most celebrated footballer of the universe, Christiano Ronaldo, who's attacking plethora is beyond imagination and if Ronaldo leaves his ego out of the team equation, he can find able support from Manchestor United's Nani and Chelsea's Raul Meireles to create havoc and even progress out of the group of death. FORMATION Paulo Bento usually prefers a 4-3-3 system with Ronaldo and Nani playing either side of Hugo Almeida. With their pace and craftiness on the flanks, Ronaldo and Nani can be devastating. Both have the ability to drift menacingly

into the center to support the lone striker. Genoa Miguel Velosona is a left sided player with more defensive traits, will get the node ahead of Hugo Viana. He will play alongside the inform Raul Meireles and the clever Joao Moutinho. Bruno Alves and Pepe will be at center back as always, with Joao Pereira [right] and Fabio Coentrao [left] in the full back positions. PLAYER TO WATCH Nani. He is one of the galaxy of the stars coach Paulo Bento can call upon to influence a game at any point of time. With loads of potential, he has the ability to take on the defenders and dominate the midfield with his quick feet, impeccable technical skill and creativity.
