Many of them have hearing and seeing deterioration, some might lose their vision because of illness, some even have been through a car accident or chronic disease and depression. Because of art program on Wednesday, they are more willing to go out and have social networking.

Art For All 藝術平權計畫的願景是:給所有人的文化藝術,《文化棲地》刊物在持續一年半的行 動後於焉誕生。夥伴們透過程式設計、開發語音平台、視覺和體驗流程設計、視障者與長者使用 習慣研究,平台初步的測試,並透過走進社區工作坊,坐在視障朋友及阿公阿嬤身旁,觀察平台
使用狀況。平權將再也不是遙不可及的理想,當我們意識到差異時,就能聽見這些不同的聲音。
或許,我們很難真正體會看不見的感覺。但我們之所以能看見這些需求,只因期望藝術能更貼近 視障者、年長者的生活中,期盼在不久的將來,能在每個人的心中建立一座美術館。

to realize art is for everyone. We’ve been taking actions for one& half year, and this “Art for example, engineer programming, develop an audio platform, visual & user experience design. The research of their technology using habits of visually impaired people & the elderly and we also do user experience tests. Moreover, we sit beside the elderly people, take a close look to know how seniors browse the information. Equality becomes available, not just an untouchable dream. When we notice the differences, we can hear various voices from others. It is impossible to fully understand the feelings of being blind. However, we see those people in need, we embrace the idea of art equality, we are eager to stand beside visually-impaired people & the seniors. In the near future,hopefully we may have a chance to create an art museum in mind.

About De-Yang Community 德陽村涵蓋了礁溪最繁榮的溫泉精華、商業中心、交通運輸與農業稻田,是礁 溪鄉範圍最大的一個村。而德陽社區座落在溫泉旅店林立的溫泉區,鄰近有大 陳義胞聚集的成功新村。除了土生土長的礁溪人之外,也有成功新村裡的大陳
義胞,甚至還有許多老年才移居礁溪的新住民,族群文化多元。社區學習中心
的長輩們年齡從 65 到 102 歲不等,他們可能有行動不便、視力不佳或失智等身 體狀況。透過一同在社區學習交流,擁有愉快的老年生活。
De-Yang village is one of the biggest and prosperous villages in Chao-Xi township, covered with the hot spring hotels, business center, convenient transportation and rice crops fields. In De-Yang village, there are two major communities, one is Cheng-Gong new village, another one is De-Yang community. Besides the locals, most of the residents in Cheng Gong new village are retired soldiers & their families. With multicultural backgrounds, the seniors coming to the community center, age between 65 to 102, some of them are physically-challenged, have poor eyesight or have dementia. The seniors learning together in the community centre and embrace happy life. 10

淑芳阿嬤從美國回到台灣定居,阿公阿 嬤叫他「美國仔」。淑芳阿嬤親切多聞, 畫畫讓她展現了自己與生命熱忱。她曾 說:「老師能把她身體裡面的東西抽出 來,讓心裡面所想用畫畫的方式表達。」 每到聖誕,她會做薑餅,告訴大家薑餅 的故事,是個充滿故事魅力的阿嬤呢!

Su- Fang moved back to Taiwan from the US. Some people called her “American” as funny. She’s intelligent and sweet. For her, to reveal and express herself through drawing is a wonderful thing. She said, “I followed the teacher's instructions of drawing. I saw its magic for taking out part inside of me. Through art, I am able to tell others my thoughts.” On X’mas, Su-Fang will tell stories of ginger biscuits to everyone. She’s a charming senior and loves storytelling as well.
