1 DE-BOT An AI-aided Design System
The project DE-BOT is a research project for a question that how AI being integrated into a design process. The research began with the existing machine learning technologies then focused on a Human-Machine-Interaction model. The purpose is to build up a general principle system for designing an AI product.
5
6 AI-aided Solution &Process Optimization
The AI-aided design system was built up to optimize the human design process by integrating a language processing subsystem, a form generation subsystem, and a package recycling subsystem into a whole service process. All the subsystems connected with each others in a loop structure for providing a sustainable service to the users who purpose on product design.
7 Text to Form &3D GAN
"Text to Form" Generation The main technology implemented in this project is called Text to Form which is based on the functions of generative adversarial neural networks. The program processed the cloud points data in a 3D model database and connected via GAN training with the pretrained VAE data from a description text database. The forms were finally generated following the input descriptions with data of cloud points and then were transformed into voxel groups, and finally became specific forms.
8 Text to Form &Prototype
With the pretrained VAE model the semantic contents of input text descriptions were understood by the program. The form was generated following the descriptions as the examples showed on the right.
Input = a big desk with four legs
Input = a big sofa
Input = a long sofa with four high legs
Input = a regular chair with four legs and high two armrests

15 Delivery Effect 15 &Transportation
The usage scenario is based on the logistical autonomous technologies in the coming future, with which the package generation was set and under 4 basic standards: •Good for Transportation and Storage; •Good for Protection of Product; •Easy for Additive Manufacturing; •Easy for Users to Use.
16 Package Generation &Variant Analysis
The concept of package was based on an idea, that instead of the extra material such as cardboard and foam the package should be with the same material of the printed product, so that it can be recycled and reused afterward. The generated package can be manufactured with the product automatically at the same time, which reduce the cost of either material or the human resources

2 VIBEYES Designsprojekt for the deafblind The VIBEYES project focused on social care for the deafblind. With the AI technologies, the missing emotional signals in the conversation were delivered through the vibration to the user, with which the deafblind can reach the communication with full information.
19 Problem Definition &Solution Communication Problems The first problem is the direction of conversation, which means if the communication takes place, you should know where the conversation partner is, otherwise the conversation is meaningless. Secondly, emotional communication a important factor either. The facial expressions and crooked movements are used in the daily by the us to express the emotional information during the conversations. For the deafblind, the emotional information is almost not arrived because they cannot see or hear. The solution of the problem is to rebuild the lost bridge with technical applications.

22 Machnie Learning &Emotion Recognition
The connection between Python and other software is also possible. The pictures shown on the right show us the connection with Grasshopper. There is a possibility that the transformation of the object is controled by the facial expressions.
23 Design Details &Vibration Feeling Grade 3 Grade 2 Grade 1 No Feeling
The sensitivities test aimed to find out the ideal area for the vibration on the surface of humanbody. The points shows different sensitivity grades from 0 to 3, which means almost no feeling to very sensitive. As the result, the back of oberbody is a ideal area for the vibration.
24 Concept &Development The charactor of the emotional express can be defined in this polygon matrix as the graphic showed below. Based on the research of the sensitivities, the emotions were defined in 6 non-interfering models, each emotion can be clearly feel by the vibration.

30 Idea &Development
B-to-C Model As the analysis of existing market, the most customers are hotels or fitniss studios. Can we mind the market deeply directly to the user? The design concept Bällebad is trying to introduce the usage of solarbank to the users at home, which means the user can easily buy the little unit and put into to bathtub and enjoy the experience. This product transfer the business from B-to-B to B-to-C and have the potential to expand the market.
31 Idea &Development Cleaning and recharging
The user experience should be as the first factor to be concerned as the B-to-C-concept mainly fits the daily of the users. Here shows the useing scenario of the product concept.
The product should be strong enough and waterproof ,and inaddition mechanical charging, so that users can seaily put the products into the washmachine for cleaning and recharging.
Enjoy at home The customer can buy packages depending on their own demand and enjoy the sunbathing, instead in fitniss studios, hotels, or other organizations, easily at home.
Direct to customer The B to C concept makes sure that the solar-bank can be with a ideal logistik method to be delivered to the user directly. The customers can easily find the product in any retail terminal.
32 Idea &Development
The Development of Polyhedron With the research of the polyhedron in Rhino 5 comes the variants that can interact with the points and the reflection on a sphere. The more possibilities there are, the better the form evolves. After that I chose the best ones and developed them further
Form Research Premodel is the necessary process of product design as it can show the possibilities to get the ideal shape. The polyhedron is an ideal direction for the „ball bath“, but with the premodel, there are several variants. The designer should consider this in order to balance the advantages and the disadvantages. With this form there is also the opportunity to integrate the robot system. As the design idea that, each ball as an independent unit can communicate with other balls, through IR sensor and distance sensor, with each other, so that all balls work as a selforganized system. The inner structure will function as one robot, with the location signal the robot can move on a surface.
Functional Modell
33 Design &Rendering
In Ball‘s design, due to the product language, several curves are used, so the sphere looks soft to show accessibility and tactility. The goledene curves are not only patten but also the Matel structure, so that they can support the weight and stress, because the OLED surface is weak and easy to be destroied. The circuit board is hinged, then it can stick on the inside of the ball.

39 Design &Development After researching the lattice system and fractal, the basic knowledge of modularity and automation is deeply understood. After careful consideration, the end development of the control cabinet came out with higher performance and lower costs. It consists of two parts: the shelf system and the robot system. The shelf system provides the workstations for the robot, which can climb on the surface of the shelf thanks to the four 3-dimensionally movable legs. With the camera and data chain, the robot will remain connected to the control system, allowing engineers and workers to control the status of the control cabinet behind the screen.
160mm 600mm
The scale of the shelving system is based on the size of the crossboard. Each cell is 600mm by 600mm with the holematrix in the background. With the help of the holematrix, with which the weight of the backboard is lighter, the shelving system can be cooled down quickly
40 Design &Development
The connection of the shelving system is the focus of the design. With the auto-developing algorithm, you get the minimum surface area from the connection. This improves the structure ideally for the movement of the robot.
600mm
The robot is integrated with the camera and support arms. The arms can support the component and then connect the line. In order to further develop the autoinstall system, the aesthetics and functional module of the component should be further designed. But this is not necessary for this project.
