Wildcat Welcome Weekend will help you begin to feel at home at Central. You will connect with other students, become familiar with campus and get acquainted with the many resources available to you. We want to help prepare you for a successful academic experience. In addition to many fun activities, we have planned a variety of valuable educational sessions and workshops.
As you are browsing through this booklet, you will notice a symbol next to some of the activity headings. Your attendance at these sessions is required in order for you to receive full credit for University 101.
At the end of each of these sessions, you will receive a sticker to verify your attendance. Tear out this page with all the required stickers, and turn it in to your instructor at your first UNIV 101 class.

Conquering Credit Location: Science 240 US Bank This workshop will focus on credit & interest, how credit works and how to avoid common traps like making “minimum payments.” You will see how small, everyday expenses can add up over time.
Dope on Dope Location: Science 101 Wellness Center Learn everything you need to know about pot! This is an interactive and informative session that addresses pot culture and academic life. Presented by Student Health Educators.
Financial Literacy Location: Science 337 Financial Aid Office This session will focus on what to expect as a first year student loan borrower, including: where to go for answers to your financial aid questions, how to be a responsible borrower and how to manage your student loan debt. We will browse the various Federal Student Loan websites to learn how much you have borrowed, how to manage what you have borrowed and how to keep your student loan debt under control. College of Arts and Humanities Randall 118 The College of Arts and Humanities is home to the departments of art, communication, English, foreign languages, history, music, philosophy, and theatre arts. Areas of study within these departments teach students to fully understand and appreciate all of the complex physical, cultural, and imaginative dimensions of human existence. A brief overview of the college's departments and interdisciplinary programs will be provided, as well as information about study abroad and internship opportunities.
College of Business Randall 117 The College of Business (COB) is proud of its heritage of creating value and equal opportunity for its students. An overview of academic programs within the COB will be provided, along with a presentation from current students who will describe how they have discovered value and opportunity in their pursuit of business degrees.
College of Education Michaelsen 221 Education offers programs in teacher education including bilingual, dance, early childhood, elementary, English as a Second Language, family and consumer science, health/fitness, library media, reading, special education, technology, and traffic safety. It also provides the professional education courses that preservice teacher candidates must take regardless of endorsement area.
