Governance SGA qualifies PCP certification On January 14, 2015 Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP), NGOs standards and quality certification program awarded certification to the Sindh Graduates Association. The certification was awarded following extensive field appraisals and a thorough analysis of SGA’s organizational systems, policies and procedures. PCP delegation was led by Mr. Ali Jafri and Mr. Raja Nouman. The certification is one of the great milestones achieved by SGA.

Perfects awarded with sashes at Ghotki
A formal sash awarding ceremony for the prefects of Roshan Tara Higher Secondary School Ghotki was organized on February 24, 2015 at the school. The ceremony was done during the school assembly. Two brilliant students from each class were selected and awarded with sashes to be prefects or class representatives. The objective of the ceremony was to encourage the students and embody environment of self-discipline within them.
English language teaching methodologies training for RTS Teachers
Education ‘Save Education Save Sindh’ seminar SGA Pano Aqil branch organized a seminar on ‘Save Education Save Sindh’ on January 29, 2015. Students and teachers of Roshan Tara Secondary School
Pano Akil actively participated in the seminar. The participants highlighted importance of quality education for the girl children, raised voice against the culture of absenteeism and defunct schools.
The capacity building of teachers is indispensable in every educational institute, a series of English language teaching methodologies training was conducted in 11 Roshan Tara Schools. 149 teachers (male 61, female 88) have been imparted English language teachers training. Mr. Luqman Khoso, the lead trainer at the Sindh Graduates Association imparted this specialized training. Respective SGA branch representatives and SMC members attended the concluding ceremony of the training events and awarded the certificates.

Six Roshan Tara Schools include IT and Science laboratories SGA is privileged to add three Information Technology (IT) Labs and six Scientific Experimental Education Labs in Roshan Tara Schools at Halla, Kashmore, Mehrabpur, Khipro, Sehwan and Bhan Sayedabad. The project is being implemented with the financial and technical support of Government of Sindh, under CDP project phase V, students of the Roshan Tara School will get hands on exposure to the world of information Technology and Science. In addition to this, the work of Solar Energy is in progress.
New building of Roshan Tara School Dadu SGA has been endeavoring to provide quality education in Sindh since more than three decades and is simultaneously expanding the existing Roshan Tara Schools Program with the support of philanthropists. The construction of a well planned building of Roshan Tara School Dadu has been completed.
Up gradation of Roshan Tara School Gadap from primary to elementary Although Gadap town is situated in Malir District of Karachi but it is devoid of basic civic amenities especially the literacy level is very low. SGA identified this major issue and adopted closed Government Girls School in Murid Jokhio Village by reopening the school with the cooperation of local communities. The enrolment increased from 28 to 146, initial classes were started up-to primary level but due to the growing demand by the local community, The school was upgraded from primary to middle level. In this connection, construction of two more classes is in progress.

The area is both arid with mainly hilly, barren and uneven topographical features. The famous tourist resort and the coldest place in Sindh Gorakh Hill Station is part of the vast Kaachho area.
Community health through medical camps by branches SGA Pano Akil branch organized an eye camp on January 30-31, 2015 at the Taluka Hospital, Pano Akil in District Sukkur. Some 739 patients were diagnosed with eye ailments and doctors performed operations for 111 patients. Lenses, Spectacles, and medicines to the communities were provided free of cost. SGA Pat Sharif branch organized a Skin Care Camp on January 4, 2015 at Pat Sharif, Once a center of learning and enlightenment in the subcontinent. Some 624 patients were given proper skin care inclusive of medicines free of cost in skin care camp at Pat Sharif. SGA Khudabad branch organized an Eye camp in the month of January. 496 patients were diagnosed and 89 patients were operated. The support included provision of

cines free of cost. SGA Umerkot Branch organized a free medical eye camp, where 989 patients were diagnosed, 164 patients were operated and were provided lenses, spectacles and medicines. SGA Gulshan-e-Hadeed branch organized a three days eye camp on 3-5 March 2015 at the Steel Town Hospital, Karachi. 926 patients were diagnosed and 65 were operated. Mr. Rafique Ahmed Jafri - Chairman Sindh Graduates Association (SGA) participated as a chief guest during the inaugural ceremony of the camp. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Ghulam Raza Rajpar - General Manager Industrial Relations and Security of the Pakistan Steel, Dr. Abdul Qadir Soomro-Chief Medical Officer of the Pakistan Steel, Dr Nazeer Ahmed Panwhar- Deputy Incharge of the Prevention and Control of Blindness Program, Sindh Health Department, Dr Muhammad Bux Abbasi and Dr Minhajuddin participated in the camp. SGA Padedan branch organized a three days free eye care camp on 25-27 March 2015 at Padedan town, the doctors diagnosed 961 patients and operated to 107 patients. SGA Hingorja branch organized a three days free eye camp on 27-29 March 2015 at the Hingorja, in the camp total 890 patients from surrounding villages were diagnosed, lenses, medicines, and spectacles were provided to vulnerable patients.

A separate awareness session was conducted for female. Six medical camps were conducted for mentally ill persons in different villages of UC Faqir Noohthani. Four self-help groups were formed in villages Mari Mohammad Khan, Jamal Dahiri, Wahindri, Saeed Khan Laghari and Mansoora. UPTAAR Cultural and Literary Activities Memoir and condolence over the sad demise of Late Sadiq Faqeer Sindh Graduates Association, organized a memoir programme in connection with the sad demise of renowned Musician, singer, teacher, literary and development activist Sadiq Faqeer on March 12, 2015 at the Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Sindhi Language Authority in Hyderabad. Sadiq Faqeer succumbed to death due to a tragic road accident during umrah pilgrimages at the Holy Hejaz e Muaqadis near Makkah Mukarrama. Scholars, civil society members, artists, literary persons and members from different branches of the Sindh Graduates Association participated in the memoir program. Addressing
to the program Mr. Rafique Ahmed Jafri, Ms Nazir Naz, Mr. Ayaz Latif Palijo, Mr. Javed Ahmed Unar, Mr. Peeral Khan Khoso, Mr. Abdul Rasool Soomro and others recalled the services and contribution of the late activist. A condolence gathering was also held at SGA Head Office, Karachi.

4 and financial reports for the year 2013-14. Mr Rafique Ahmed Jafri-Chairman SGA welcomed all the participants. Mr Ali Hussain Brohi-Secretary General presented the Annual Report for the year 2013-14 and facilitated the in-house sessions. Mr. Ibrahim Shaikh Secretary Finance shared the financial report for the year 2013-14. Mr. Wali Muhammad Roshan facilitated the resolution sessions.
42nd Annual Day of SGA at Karachi
42nd Annual Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony of SGA was held on 22 March 2015 at the open air theater of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. Honorable Sayed Murad Ali Shah, the Minister for Finance and Energy, Government of Sindh graced the event as a Chief Guest. The distinguished guests included Dr Muhammad Suleman ShaikhFounder Chairman SGA. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili-Vice Chancellor of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro. Talking on the event, the honourable minister reiterated the importance of education and technocracy as the only way to achieve long term development in every field of life. The minister presented a gold medal and cash award of PKR 50,000 to Ms Aasoo Bai Kolhin upon her meritorious work for establishing school in the remotest area of Thasr. The minister also awarded prizes to the high achievers of SGA from various branches. Gold medal, shields, certificates were also awarded to students with highest grades in their academic results. A crest was presented to the honorable chief guest as a souvenir. The event was followed by music program which included performance of famous radio and television artists.
Relief & Emergency Drought affected communities get safe drinking water in Thar SGA Karachi-Women's branch launched a safe drinking water scheme and reopened a dysfunctional school by appointing a local teacher in village Jhirmiryo of Taluka Diplo in district Tharparkar. An arid zone area of Sindh. A delegation of SGA Karachi Women’s branch Ms Siddiqui and Ms Fozia Zuberi inaugurated the schemes near Diplo in one of the largest habitated desert of world here in Tharparker. The water scheme has been initiated with submersible pump technology especially designed for desert and arid zone environments. The branch organized a medical camp and constructed a boundary wall for the primary school of the village.
