Zarah, a monthly published magazine, is available online and in print. It was established to be the voice of the Arab-American community. The word Zarah is derived from the Arabic word “Zahra,” or red rose. It is primarily, historically and universally a symbol of a true love, besides growth and beauty. A red rose has been represented in many great human works: paintings, photography, music and poetry, making us believe that Zarah would be the most appropriate name for our magazine. Zarah is our way to say to the community we serve, “We strongly love you.” Meanwhile, the name depicts our ambitious and precise mission, which is ideally to inspire our community to engage fully and positively within their new environment; while maintaining attachment to the culture left behind.
Zarah aims at being an intellectual hub, where our community can express their needs, opinions and thought vis-à-vis both their countries of origin and their new country of settlement.
