2 - Security warnings The General Energy Cutting buton, located along the left side the board allows to cut the electric current of all components of the cooling system Biocooler. The control of various components of the system for cooling or heating is exclusively done through the console located on the door of the switchboard. O The interior of the switchboard should be handled only by a technician expertised in electricity.

4.2.4

3 - Introduction The user operation of the Biocooler system is controlled trough the consol interface CCU - Master Control Unit, located on port the switchboard. Home State This figure appears on the screen after the start of the system or after you spend 30 seconds without interacting with the menus, except in alarm cases.

4 - Main Menu Pressing any key of the CCU will automatically take you to the main menu. In this menu are 3 sub-menus available, each one with its shortcut key. • Press F1 to access 4.1 System status. • Press F2 to access 4.2 System config. • Press F3 to access 4.3 Alarms.

4.1 - Main Menu - System Status The chart below shows all the data you can see this menu.

Temperature and relative humidity outside on the entrance of the biocooler system.

Temperature set as desired.

4.2 - System Setup The sub-menu system configuration is divided into four sub-sub-menus: 3.2.1 Operating mode, 3.2.2 desired temperature, 3.2.3 maximun humidity, 3.2.4 Fan power. • Press F1 and F2 to decrease and increase Or adjust the settings of the sub-sub-menus. • Press F3 to travel trough the sub-sub-menus. • Press F4 return to the main menu.

4.2.1 - Sistem Configuration - Operating Modes In the operating mode Stop Group, the system is stoped. 4.2.1.1 - Auto/Cooling This mode of operation is scheduled to achieve high levels of energy efficiency. To this end the system is used in an automated way of readings from Temperature and humidity probes, inside and outside. With these data it can anticipate the results calculating adiabatic curves and acting on the components of the system adequately to the local needs.

Operating mode Auto / Cooling

• If the temperature inside the building is equal or below the desired temperature the system stops. • Se a humidade relativa no interior do edifício for superior a Humidade máxima programada, as bombas de água param. • If the relative humidity inside the building is higher than the programmed Maximum humidity, the water pumps stop. • If the outdoors relative humidity is higher than the programmed maximum humidity inside the building, then the ventilation and the whole system stops until the situation returns to be favorable.

To properly adjust the Biocooler system in automatic mode the desired temperature must select and then set the relative humidity to the maximum allowable value for that space. 4.2.1.2 - Manual / Cooling In manual mode you can counteract the cooling the energy efficiency indications of for which the system is programmed, according to the wishes of the user. • The system will remain in operation even if the temperature inside is equal or below the desired temperature. • The water pump will remain in operation even if the relative humidity inside or outside of the building exceeds 65%. • The fan will work steadily with the power set by the user.

4.2.1.3 - Auto / Heating In the automatic heating mode is triggered a dry contact that activates a heating system witch can be of various types such as heat generators, dehumidify or heat the building, controlling both variables (temperature and relative humidity) throughout the year. In automatic mode the system is also programmed to achieve high levels of energy efficiency, serving up the probe of temperature and humidity inside the building to calculate the required power.

Operating mode Manual / Cooling

• If the temperature inside the building is equal or above the desired temperature the system stops. • If the desired level of humidity is higher then the maximun humidity set, the system stops until the desired humidity is reached.

Operating mode Auto / Cooling

To properly adjust the heating system in automatic mode, choose the desired temperature and maximum allowable humidity level of within the site. 4.2.1.4 - Manual / Heating O modo manual de aquecimento permite regular os sistemas de geração de calor de acordo com a vontade do utilizador, contrariando os parâmetros de eficiência energética do modo automático. The manual mode allows regular heating systems to generate heat in accordance with the user wishes, contrary to the parameters of energy efficiency in automatic mode. • The system does not stop even when the temperature inside the building is equal or above the desired temperature (with a limit of 10 º C above the desired value - for security reasons).

Operating mode Manual / Heating

• The system does not stop even when the temperature inside the building is rising without a consequent decrease in relative humidity.

4.2.2 - System Setup - Desired Temperature In this menu you can set the desired temperature inside the building. • Press F1 and F2 reduce or increase the desired temperature respectively.

Desired temperature

• Press F3 to go to the next sub-sub-menu.

18º C

• Press F4 return to the main menu.

4.2.3 - Configuração do Sistema - Humidade Máxima In this menu you can setup the maximum relative humidity inside the building. • Press F1 and F2 to reduce and increase the maximum relative humidity respectively. • Press F3 to go to the next sub-sub-menu. • Pressione F4 to return to the main menu.

Maximun Humidity 65%

4.2.4 - System Setupa - Fan Power In this menu you can setup the Fan Power. • Press F1 and F2 to reduce or increase respectively the fan power percentage.

Fan Power

• Press F3 to go to the next sub-sub-menu. • Pressione F4 to return to the main menu.

In normal system functioning situations the image shown in the alarm menu should be the next to the picture. When there is some kind of conflict that prevents the normal functioning of the system, the CCU sends a signal of alarm. Below are the various possible alarm signals. Remote Unit Fail The computer can not communicate with the remote module. • Check status of remote module. • Check remote power module. • Check the remote module antenna. • Check the computer antenna. • Change the remote module position. • Replace de remote module. • Replace the computer.

Interior Sensor Fail The computer can not communicate with the interior temperature and humidity sensor. • Check the interior sensor status • Verify the sensor connecting plug to the board. • Replace the interior sensor.

Exterior Sensor Fail FCS The comunication between the remote sensor and the humidity and temperature sensor is deficient. • Check the remote sensor status • Make sure the remote sensor ins not installed next to power fields – Specialy the Fan power suply cable.

Exterior Sensor Fail Replay The remote module can not comunicate with the temperature and humidity sensor. • Check the remote sensor status. • Replace de remote module.

Frequency inverter in alarm Check the information available on the frequency inverter display and use the equipment manual.
