KIESERLBAHN

The new Kieserlbahn cable car, built in 2023, takes you up to 15 minutes to an altitude of 2,000m. Already during the ride you can marvel at the magnificent view of the Grossarl mountain world. All sports enthusiasts can of course also go on a ski tour directly from the valley station oft the Kieserl. For all those who prefer more comfortable, the summit restaurant Skylounge Wolke 7 is the perfect place to be. With a warm drink and delicious food, you can spend cozy hours here.
CANTINA & PIZZA INFERNO

First-class pizza and pasta can be enjoyed in the fiery inferno. The pizzas become crispy as hell over an open fire in the pizza oven and cool drinks are always always provided. Hotel Lammwirt I Großarl
A traffic-free sledging run is located at the hotel Lammwirt. The natural sledging run is approx. 3 km and promises fun for the whole family. The sledging run offers variety and excitement and offers a child and family-friendly experience.
Loosbühelalm I Ellmautal
Explore the fantastic area and experience a fun ride down on a sledge. The sledge can be hired directly from the Loosbühelam.
SNOWTUBING
Faistenau
Only a few minutes‘ walk from Faistenau you will find the adventure area of the snow tubing run. Up to five perfectly prepared snow tunnels, each with a length of 170 m, are available to children and parents. The T-bar lift takes you uphill and the snow tunnels take you downhill at breakneck speed. Whether on your stomach, lying down, sitting or spinning - anything is possible here. This is fun and experience for the whole family.
HORSE-DRAWN SLEIGH RIDE

Pure nostalgia and romance: wrapped up in warm blankets you will glide through the picturesque landscape in a horse-drawn carriage and enjoy the magic of the unique mountain world. Only the gliding of the hooves in the crunching snow, the snorting of the horses and the sound of the small bells will disturb the peace.

WINTER HIKING
Großarl I Hüttschlag
Would you like to stroll through the snowy winter landscape? Around 35 km of cleared winter hiking trails await you in Grossarl and Hüttschlag. Some of them lead along the river, some uphill to the higher-lying farms.
WINTER HIKING LOOSBÜHELALM
Großarl
From the parking lot, follow the forest path for about 1 1/4 hours to the Loosbühelalm. Where a warm parlor and home-made delicacies await you. Here snowshoe hikers and also ski tourers meet here to share their experiences in the great winter wonderland.
WINTER HIKING SONNSEITWEG
Großarl
From the village center in Grossarl, it‘s a leisurely walk uphill along the sunny side of Großarl. A wonderful view of the ski area opens up around the middle of the route. Continue uphill to the Vorderstadluck farm.
FAIRY TALE HIKE BY TORCHLIGHT

Every Tuesday and Thursday, you can take an atmospheric walk through the winter forest and listen to freely told folk tales. These are about the fairy queen in the ice castle, enchanted trees or the mighty mountain spirit. The legends are accompanied by the sounds of the natural flute.
„FAKELWANDERUNG“
Großarl
Enjoy an atmospheric „Fakelwanderung“ every Tuesday from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm with hostess Karin Hettegger. At the end, listen to the „Weisenbläser“ with a glass of warm mulled wine or punch by the cozy campfire. Please note that the „Fakelwanderung“ only takes place in the time before Christmas.
SKIKERIKI
Großarl
Enjoy a fantastic view, deserted slopes and freshly groomed pistes early in the morning before the official opening times and experience a special kind of skiing experience. Treat yourself to a regional breakfast with homemade products from local Grossarl farmers. This experience is an absolute MUST for all ski enthusiasts. During the winter season, the Skikeriki starts every Wednesday at 07.15 am. Our concierge will provide you with all further information.

FISCHBACHER PRACTICE AREA

The Fischbacher practice area is a delight for the whole family. A magic carpet - the so-called „AlmExpress“ - takes you up to either play in the winter playground or try your first turns on skis. For those who are already confident on skis, there is a platter lift. The wide, flat meadow is the perfect place to prepare for your first run on the ski mountain. The adventure meadow is accessible free of charge for young and old.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SKATING

Enjoy fantastic groomed cross-country ski trails of around 25 km in Grossarl and Hüttschlag. Most of the trails have a classic track and a skating track. If there is not enough snow, there is a solution in Grossarltal: the trail on the „Reitwiese“ in Grossarl is technically snowed over an area of 2 hectares and thus offers not only beautiful circular trails, but also an ideal practice area for beginners, advanced skiers and the next generation of cross-country skiers.

While the Grossarl Valley is known as the „Valley of Alms“ in summer, it can easily be described as the „Valley of Ski Tours“ in winter. Away from the hustle of the ski slopes, the countless peaks around the villages of Grossarl and Hüttschlag are tempting. Numerous tours of different lengths and levels of difficulty invite you to enjoy the snow-covered slopes, the glistening ice crystals and the rays of the warming sun.
