On Sunday afternoon, Pendragon Circus are inspired by author and illustrator Ellie Sandall’s new book Balancing Bernie. Bernie the dog has a brilliant balancing act! Soon dogs from all over the park are hurrying with a woof and a bark to join in... Meet the author and illustrator Ellie Sandall to find out more about her new book featuring these funny, fabulous dogs of all shapes and sizes and have a go at drawing with her. Then join Will of Pendragon Circus to learn some tricks of your own! Puppet theatre Hocus Pocus In the library Puppet Theatre on Sunday, the focus will be on adventures and the environment with Hocus Pocus Puppet Theatre performing the magical tale Like a Tree, told with handmade puppets and a vintage pram mini theatre. The story touches on climate change, beginning with the growth of a new sapling. At the same time, a child is born and their lives entwine. The piece is suitable for all ages. Performances on Sunday at 1.30pm, 2.45pm & 4pm (booking not required however maximum numbers will apply).

Get inspired by Mark Grist’s Fantastical Writing Club, draw with Ellie Sandall and create your own at our Book Factory drop-in (running on both Saturday and Sunday) with Emily Bowers. Ever wanted to create your own book? Illustrator Emily Bowers is running a drop-in Book Factory to show you a quick and easy way to make your own short story books and zines. Fill the pages with your fantastical imaginings – for inspiration on Saturday, Ellie Sandall will be giving top tips on character drawing and you can join Mark Grist’s Fantastical Writing Club. Mark is a multi-award winning poet and international battle rapper viewed online by over 40 million. He’s made many appearances on TV and radio and is currently working on a series of children’s books with Bloomsbury.
