The beginning of June was an interesting month to start off with; our Division had high hopes for many new events that were to be schedule for the month of July, such as Divisional banquet, Officer Training Conference, and more events to follow for the month of August.
Member Spotlight....... 4 A Look at the Future .. 4 DCON 2012.................. 5
The hours accumulated for the month of June were high, though there were three schools that stood out above the rest, being Narbonne, West, and North Key Club. As for Our Divisional Council Meeting that took place at Redondo Beach, being a great turn out with more than 40+ members in attendance. The DCM had a small fundraiser for our District Project being the Eliminate Project. This small fundraiser was a Pie Throwing contest that allowed members to throw a Pie at an officer for a small price of $3.00 which in term raised about $25.00. The month June was an excellent month for each member, and I am honored to say that I am their Lt. Governor. Though each member was great, I found a flaw I saw in myself throughout the month of June, that being my organizational skills and presenting the information needed for each individual Beastie Bunny. Because of the fact that members are arriving late to the DCM, it is pushing back the schedule, and creating a minor organizational problem. This is slight problem that my Divisional Board called to my attention. We are working together as a family and have gathered and created an idea for better motivating each member in division 19 South to arrive on time. This motivation is a slight prize that would be announced at the following DCM. Overall the month of June was great, but it could have been better, so as the months proceed, I will be sure that they are Spectacular.

Hot Spot, Cool Times International Board
ICON 2011 “This being my first International Convention, I was hesitant on what I would expect since I never attend one in the past; however, my week there at ICON was a magnificent experience which gave many ideas to be taken back to our home clubs. To that, we created many spectacular memories with one another, making new friends, new experiences, and a better understanding of what it is to be a Key Clubber! The journey to International Convention was different for many: some traveled by plane, others by their own methods of transportation, and a few by bus, or rather a Party Bus lead by our Momma Bee Miss Latitio-Byers of California-Nevada-Hawaii. I myself took the Party Bus, because of the many sights given along the journey to Phoenix, Arizona. On the arrival to International Convention at the Marriot Hotel in Arizona, we were excited to say that our week of fun was about to commence, though as we entered the Marriot Hotel, we found out that our rooms were yet to be ready. We waited in the lobby until the rooms were being prepared for our stay. Though it was a bummer to feel that we had to wait, we took this to our advantage and decided to explore the hotel that we were going to be staying in for the week of fun and excitement. The Marriot Hotel, very much living up to its 5 star status, was found to be a very amazing by all the Lt. Governors that attended ICON. The view was spectacular with the tranquility of the river, from the beautiful town to the outlook of the savanna. It was a sight too sore for eyes. It was inhabited by many Beastie Bunnies; everywhere you looked you saw a Bunny. Though as much fun as it was to explore the Marriot Hotel, we decided to go back in to see if our rooms were ready. Our rooms were ready for some but were still being prepared for others. However, the wait for the rooms was fun as it brought most of us closer together by our story sharing and few laughs here and there. After a few minutes of waiting, our rooms were ready at last. We went up to drop off our stuff and continue our adventure, which was a shopping adventure to hunt for food that would last us throughout the week. As the week went by, we had many fun adventures, from hiking through one of the treasures of the world being the Grand Canyon which was both invigorating and exhausting. The sight was amazing, being able to view something so beautiful that took over a million years to be created. But not only was it a great sight to see, but a great way for each Cali-Nev-Ha Lt. Governor to bond even closer with one another as a family. But time flew by like a millisecond. Next thing you know it was Election Day, where every District voted for the New International Board of 20112012. Many gave their speeches to be elected and whether they were elected or not, each candidate tried their best. Many tears were shed as the torch was passed down to the new board, but each tear that fell was not a tear of sadness but a tear of happiness for all the hard work given through the year and great hope for the new International Board. (A note to all you: Beastie Bunnies, anything can be accomplished if you put both your mind and heart into what you believe in.) Many great memories, stories, events, etc, happened at International Convention that many Key Clubbers took back home and shared with others that could not attend this year’s ICON. This left a majority of us with great anxiety for the next International Convention that is to be taken place in Orlando Florida for the year of 2012! Beastie Bunnies International Convention was a spectacular week of adventures and excitement, but I can’t tell you everything that I experienced, for only YOU can deliberate that, so start saving up for the next International Convention to experience it for yourself!” -Ramon Esquivel

Getting Ready For DCON DCON 2012 District Convention 2012 will be held at Santa Clara. This is about 7 hours away from here. Everyone should be preparing for this once in a lifetime event. Each and every DCON is different for example DCON 2010 was different from 2011 because of the fact that you had more bonding time and more traveling with your fellow members whereas this year there wasn’t much of a trip because it was so close. So everyone should try to save around $300.00 for DCON! Buy your business attire early so that you don’t have to shop at every store in a mad panic to look for professional attire clothes. DCON 2012’s Theme is BEElieve – the magic of Service, There is a Logo design contest going on hosted by District convention Chair Philip Nguyen. The deadline for this contest is July 20th. If your missed your chance to design it this year maybe try for DCON 2013? DCON is very pricy; therefore get your club to start fundraising now to drop the cost of DCON. For example Carson only had to pay around 100 whereas North had to pay 300 because they didn’t fundraise enough. So start!
