Key Club For You ........ 2 Past Events ................... 3 Member Spotlight....... 4
Another month has passed us by and summer is soon to end. Throughout the beginning of August, with summer board coming to a close it was stated by Governor Erinn Wong that I would be the multidivision Lt. Governor for division 01 and division 19 south. There are many new goals for the beginning of this second quarter that I hope to see unravel in both divisions such as increasing both service hours and membership. With the summer of 2011 coming to a close I plan to thoroughly work closer with each school within division 1 and 19 south to promote stronger communication and creating stronger bonds with our Kiwanis family. I will use the few weeks of summer left to offer everyone a chance to do more service. With these few weeks there are events for almost every weekend for everyone to participate in.
A Look at the Future .. 4 Major fun...................... 5
My plan for this month is to establish a positive motivation, communication and reassuring my leadership and providence to all members of division 19 south. With fall rally approaching there will be a massive increase of member attendance at events and a dramatic increase of hours. But with this comes a problem, a problem that includes member retention after fall rally. This is one of the biggest problems every year, but my goal for the division is to keep a majority of members after fall rally. I have various ways of doing this, as time approaches I will show you guys. Most importantly the division needs to stay spirited and have an unbreakable bond where no one is left behind or forgotten. With another division joining the family we will need to be inclusive and accept them with open hands and show them the way of the beastie bunnies. -Ramon Esquivel 2011-2012 Lt. Governor

Defining, Enjoying, Reasoning, Planning “Key Club is better than any other service club even though at first, most people join it thinking that it's all fun. Fall rally is like our little trap to entice people in, BUT along the way we start doing hours not only because they're mandatory but because we're beginning to enjoy community service. Especially doing it with our friends make which it all the more fun. Also, Key Club becomes a big family. It gives you an opportunity to meet people whom you otherwise might not ever cross your path.” –Francis Diane ‘My goal is…Get at least 1 new member every month and have at the very least an 85% retention of members by the end of the term. We will reward members who sign up their friends and emphasize the benefits of being in Key Club as well as educate members with a little Key Club 101 to help them understand the awe that is Key Club. Club Rush is still unknown. Fundraise enough for the club to bring at least 20 people to DCON and fundraise enough for the division to donate to PTP and Project Shine. We will hold fundraisers in which we not only sell candy, chocolate, and movie tickets, but we will attempt to reach out to sponsors, restaurants, hold yard sales, and have a monthly Happy 'Dollar Sad Dollar within the club. ” – Liezel Manalo “To increase hours we can do more service projects or events to help people get some hours done. In order to obtain members, we can be spirited and friendly during club rush so it will attract more people to join our club.” -Jacqueline Alayvilla
Just Do It.
“Key Club International is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Key Club changed my perspective of things, it allows you to meet people from all over the places, how key club helped me change my perspective of helping others and how key club can develop leadership skills. People should join because they can explore new things that they never had done before and meet new people. Mingling and volunteering are the best things key club can offer since it’s really fun. One benefit of joining key club is "Fall Rally." Fall Rally is held every year at Six Flags where you are tested to your limit of how spirited you are. In my perspective, "Fall Rally," is a life-changing experience. From meeting new people and riding roller coasters, it is the best adventure I have ever taken. SO JOIN” -Angelo De Guzman
“My goal is…to make sure that no member quit right after fall rally and to create a bond between each and every single member and to also make the members feel that key club is a family not only a club. Also, to have fun, create memorable memories, and enjoy volunteering the whole year.” - Dean De Dios I pledge on my honor to uphold the objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school, and community; to serve my nation and god and to combat all forces, which tend to undermine these institutions.
Caring - Our way of Life
“My club goal for the new school year is to do as much fundraisers as we can to raise a lot of money for DCON, Fall Rally, and for other needs of the club. I also want to create more unity and spirit by holding more ice breakers or some sort of group exercise during club meetings or socials.” -Jacqueline Alayvilla “My goal is…To get our members more active by spending more time with our club brainstorming on ideas during club meetings rather than making it secretly written on paper. The more we interact with our club where our members actually talk the more they can become more associated with the club. I will also try to post all events in the notes to keep our club updated as much as possible.” - Lawrence Dizon

Old Business The month of July and the beginning of August have been filled with service ranging from club events to division events. With that I would like to congratulate San Pedro Key Club for showing up to their first DCM along with various other events. Keep up the good work. With this 8 out of the 9 schools in the division are now completing service.
Division banquet!
Division 19 South Banquet was also on July 30. It was at Hermosa Kiwanis Hall from 3-7pm. The banquet was fun for many and a lot of food was left over for people to take home. After the banquet many of the attendees went to the beach to cool off.

July DCM
This DCM was a joint DCM with D19N. During this DCM people bought the new division shirt which is only $10. After the DCM there was a BBQ Social. Sadly the majority amount of people left, but still one school remained. Thank you Carson Key Club for pulling through.
Officer Training
OTC was July 30th from 122pm at Hermosa Kiwanis Hall and around 30 people showed up to this training session.
Narbonne Interviews
On a fine evening a bunch of fellow Narbonne members came together and formed this event where each member brought another member to this bonfire to show them the thrill of Key Club. Many applications were handed out. Seeing the joy on the potential members’ faces made the night. But Key Club isn’t all fun and games, a few weeks later new member applicants had to go through a nerve racking interview where they had to memorize duties and perform a talent in front of the entire club.

DCON 2012 DCON 2012, BEElieve – the magic of Service District Convention this year will be held at Santa Clara. This is about 7 hours away from here. Everyone should be preparing for this once in a lifetime event. Each and every DCON is different. For example DCON 2010 was different from 2011 because of the fact that you had more bonding time and more traveling with your fellow members whereas this year there wasn’t much of a trip because it was so close. So everyone should try to save around $300.00 for DCON! Buy your business attire early so that you don’t have to shop at every store in a mad panic to look for professional attire clothes. DCON is very pricy; therefore get your club to start fundraising now to drop the cost of DCON. For example Carson only had to pay around 100 whereas North had to pay 300 because they didn’t fundraise enough. So start!
