“October was a promising month, and looking back it surly kept its promise. Throughout the month, clubs in Division 19 South were well active and eager to participate at events. Though there was one club that stood out above all the rest. That club is Narbonne Key Club who went above and beyond service hours and reached a total of 600 plus hours for the month of September.

During this month Division 19 South had to major division events being, Aids Walk Los Angeles and the Hermosa Beach triathlon. Each of these events had more than a 100 members in attendance. Super Bunnies for the month of September were Narbonne, North, and West. Our Division Council Meeting was held on the 8th of this month at Wilson Park from 2:00pm-4:00pm. During this DCM we had a special guest for our meeting being our Kiwanis Lt. Governor, Tim McDonald. The key focus for this meeting was spirit. As the days of Fall Rally South Draws closer and closer, Division 19 South is becoming more and more spirited with each day that passes until November 19th 2011. Old Business October DCM: This month’s DCM was held at Wilson Park on October 8th. The school with the most attendees was West high school. This DCMs primary focus was Spirit. During this DCM we had a special guest, Kiwanis LTG Tim McDonald. During this DCM new members learn the how do you feel cheer along with the remix. There was also a spirit battle at the end.

Aids Walk 2011:

On Sunday October 16 over 100 key clubbers from division 19 south drove to LA early in the morning to attend the magnificent Aids walk to raise money for aids by walking 6.2miles around los Angeles. During the walk many key clubbers were having spirit battles against rival divisions in the area. By the end of the day everyone was exhausted and could not speak at all. But overall if you ask those who went this event was one not to be forgotten.

Hermosa Beach Triathlon:

Early morning at 3am Over 200 key clubbers from division 19 south woke up to go the beach. Hundreds of Key Clubbers lined up at around 4 to sign in to receive credit for their club. This was one of the first events for many of the new members. For the first 100 sign ups each member got $20.00 for their respective club. Many people were assigned traffic duties, cheering at racers or setting up the actual course. Not only was this event fun, it was also a good experience for a lot of the new members and gave them a chance to meet people from all over.

Many might have not slept for this magnificent event but they all say it was worth the effort and sleep. Key Clubbers from Division 1 also came to this event.
