According to data from the Lufkin Multiple Listing Service compiled by the Texas Association of Realtors, our local market grew stronger between January 2016 and January 2017. The median price for homes in our area surged, the number of listings decreased—increasing demand, houses sold faster, and more houses were sold.

Here’s a look at the specifics in the graphic on the right.

The months of inventory indicate the amount of time it would take to sell all the properties on MLS if no new listings were added. This information helps determine if it’s a seller’s market, buyer’s market, or a balanced market.
