1. A. Conventional Loan. The lowest interest rates are usually through a conventional loan and go to those who have a good credit score and a down payment of 20% or more.

Even though the primary goal of the FHA loan program is to help more Americans buy their FIRST homes, this program can also help folks get back into homeownership if they have not owned a home in the last 3 years. This allows people who are recovering from hard times a chance to start anew by requiring a lower down payment than conventional loans.

3. A. 580. Although approving an FHA loan is still up to each lender, most will approve it if you have at least a 580 credit score. Even though the FHA guidelines state that the lowest allowable credit score is 500, most lenders are not willing to take that big of a risk and will instead discuss ways the buyer might be able to raise that score before lending..

4. C. realtor.com®. Realtor.com® is the website for the National Association of REALTORS®, which links all the multiple listings services across the country. New listings, price reductions, and changes in sold status update directly to this site as they happen.
