THE MINIONS GUIDE TO
T Y P O G R A P H Y ZOË KEIDGE • TYPO FOR PRINT • SEMESTER 1, 2015
Typographic design is all about the font. I wanted this book whose sole purpose was to be about typography, to not have to rely on colour or photographs to make it interesting. Instead I wanted to use the fonts of Minion Pro and Minion Ese, and experiment with the layouts, weights, heights and just the fonts in general to make the book something that was visually interesting. So I went for a really minimal, white space orientated design, that focused on the layout and design, of the text, rather than anything else. Both Minion Pro and Minion Ese are simple, sophisticated and clean fonts, and I felt my book needed to reflect that.

ISSUES & CHANGES
I would spend more time deveolping and finding initial designs and ideas for the project. I definitely found great inspiration, but I would have liked to create my content, meaning more research. Spelling, grammar, I think just getting more people to proof read it in general, as I stared at it for days and hours and even though I found nothing, it all became a blur after a while (lel). Time management, lets be honest, we all have this issue. I feel like I would have liked to have had my book done early so if it came back wrong I could have gotten a fixed up copy.
