INSPIRED BY DESIGNERS IRIS VAN HARPEN AND EIOKA ISHIOKA, I WANTED TO CREATE A COSTUME FOR THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT FROM THE PLAY MAGIC FLUTE, THAT PLAYS WITH SHAPES AND FORMS USES EVERYDAY MATERIALS IN AN UNEXPECTED WAY AND RE-IMAGINES THE CHARACTER. THE COSTUME WAS SEWN BY ME. THE FINAL RESAULT OF THIS EXERCISE WAS A FASHION VIDEO AVAILABLE ON THE LINK BELOW.

IN THIS EXERCISE WE HAVE RECEIVED A PIECE OF FABRIC TO MANIPULATE. THE END GOAL WAS TO CREATE AN OUTFIT USING A FABRIC MANIPULATION TECHNIQUE. IN THE FOLLOWING SEMESTER WE HAVE USED OUR EXPERIENCE TO PICK A FABRIC OF OUR OWN, AND APPLY OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE TECHNIQUE TO CREATE A SECOND OUTFIT.
