MyPup: The efficient, eco-friendly parcel delivery solution
It has become an all-too-familiar sight: courier and delivery services of all stripes rushing every which way to drop off parcels and in the process creating chaos in city streets worldwide. Surely there’s a more environmentally-friendly and efficient way? This question got the founders of My Pick Up Point thinking. Their solution? To tackle the problem by completely rethinking the organization of mobility. MyPup’s Business Development manager, Rogier van Aalten, is working to implement their concept at new locations throughout the country. He talked to us about their innovative solution.

MyPup collects parcels at a hub outside the city and then delivers them. How exactly does that work? “Users fill in our distribution centre as the delivery address. We then consolidate all the parcels and take them into the city in one go, in emissions-free vehicles. This drastically reduces the number of parcel couriers and emissions. What really sets our concept apart is that we take parcel flows from all delivery services and then take care of that last stretch, so they’re not each sending people into every city and neighbourhood. I absolutely believe that this is the future. Just look at the steady growth in low-traffic neighbourhoods and cities. MyPup helps to reduce traffic flows in urban centres, which makes streets quieter and safer.”
What are the advantages for customers using your service? “For starters, convenience and security. All parcels are securely delivered in a designated locker that only the customers can open, which prevents damage and

theft. Customers don’t need to wait around for deliveries and can collect parcels whenever it’s most convenient for them. They also use the same lockers for returns. Last, but certainly not least, this is a sustainable solution.”
Observant readers are likely to have seen your couriers around Zuidas. What are your ambitions for this district? “There is definitely a good chance you’ve seen our eye-catching cargo bikes or electric vans riding around the area. We deliver to a number of office buildings, including the ITO tower, WTC, Valley and various apartment complexes. Our ambition here is obviously to add more locations, as we want to contribute towards the objective of reducing transport movements. Thanks to MyPup, there are fewer parcel services driving around Zuidas, people still receive what they ordered the same day. That’s what I would call a win-win.”
