In the first quarter of next year Uber is relocating its headquarters to Zuidas, where it will become the largest tenant of the monumental new Tripolis-Park. Having grown from 400 to 1,500 employees in recent years, the company can well use this extra space. We caught up with Kim Ruiter, head of Sales for Northern & Eastern Europe for Uber for Business. Uber is fully committed to sustainability, and that’s reflected in Kim’s vision: “I’m very excited about Uber Green for businesses, where we support and empower companies with their sustainability journey.”

100% green rides Uber has publicly committed to becoming a zero-emissions platform by 2040, meaning 100% of all rides globally will be in zero-emissions vehicles. Kim: “I’m thrilled to be a part of a team that’s helping companies gain insight into their carbon footprint and identifying ways for them to reduce it. The launch of Uber Green marks an important step in making all the platform’s rides in the Netherlands 100% green. We’ve agreed with the City of Amsterdam to reach this target for rides within Amsterdam by 2025.”

Uber for Zuidas According to Uber, one lesson of the pandemic is that putting business travellers first is more important than ever. Which is precisely where Uber for Business comes in. “Travel needs vary by personal choice or company need”, Kim explains. “With Uber for Business, you can give employees access to flexible ride options like Uber Comfort for extra legroom or Uber Green for an earthfriendly alternative to help you meet your sustainability goals. Go big and keep teams travelling together with UberXL, or enable employees to plan ahead with Uber Reserve. As soon as we’ve landed in Zuidas, I look forward to meeting companies and telling them about our options.”

The Uber for Business platform helps companies manage, track and report on their business travels. Upgrade your company’s business travel by automating trip expenses, monitoring employee usage and reporting on CO2 emissions - all from a single dashboard.
