At the Junction, the site B is the highest to overlook the local residential area.
The above view from the main road to site A shows the rapid urbanization of Liverpool Knowledge Quater, including construing dense student accomodations.

In the middle of boundry inbetween the urbanization and Georgian buildings, the void is shown with segregation of the urbanlandscape.

On the major way to Site B, the adjacent Georgian terraced houses are embedded with the broad greenpark a long time ago.

At the bottom of the site A, it is shown that the slope is declined to West and South.

Context Reasearch / A story: Boundry
Context Reasearch / A story: Perception
The site A is a barrier to the local area, including Georgian architectures, new additions of the Georgian style, and local catherdral. The integration of the geographical and architectural points cause its isolation against new developments. Thus local council managed to prevent this segregation, building new brick walls campuse, and refurbrishing the victorian building. But the local area and the cathedral have gradually got forgotten behind the high rising flats.
The hostile developement, from perspective of the local area, have threaten the continuity of urbanscape and materiality, and the right of residential welfares. Except for the university’s campus, there is no way to interact new visitors with the local assest, such as the cathedral. With the decline of new visitors to the toll, new solution should be needed to stimulate the brightness of the isolated local area.
Historically, the exchange between the religious institution and the organ craftsmanship had been glorified and dignified. While with the devalue of the craftsmanship by the mechanization of the post-industry and the decrease of interest of millennial generation on the religion, their holistic activity and reputation are underestimated by where they work, and their look. In this collage, the bottom of the dense pipes is supported by studios of craftman, as so it is recalled that the craftmanship of praise to god cannot be subsittuted. The organ project will contribute to the stimulation of interacting visitors with local areas with the cathedral.

Design Reasearch / Typology of industrial building workshop production
production various operation
Group production
performance of partial processes on various work pieces
Organ pipe workshop is additive plant type. Its spatial configuration and each functional units are arranged by different purposes raning from manufacturing (workshop production) to repairing (Group production). Therefore, continuous circulation is needed
9
Design Reasearch / Wellbing of tenents
For maximum ventilation and natural light, and minimum invasion of sound and overlook, these above spaces must be implemented.
Design Reasearch / Inspirational concept
Texture of dense pipe and radius mass of piano can be enough to insinuate pedestrain or visitors about programme of the organ pipe warehouse. As so, visually imitated design has terractta in curved mass, it should be embeddded into the Georgian architectures surrounding for visual comfort.

Design Process / First Massing study
Transparent mass i oriented twoard the church, as so all assembly activity can be seen from lower level of main roand and upper level of local community area.
Based on the noise toerlance of spaces, noise intolerant space: office, meeting room is close to the residential area. In the other hand, noise resistant space: metal and wood workshop and enrmouse storages are close to the noisy road or commercial areas
The rest of spaces are aligned by the university campus’s boundary in order to prevent the main local landmarks: Historical cathedral and the university.
Materiality with square on grasshopper algorithms
Materiality with pentagone on grasshopper algorithms Two contrasting forms are stacked up to represent the georgian house’s roof and wall. Upper one will be fluid and Lower one will be rectangular. The forms also represent the use of spaces; fluid one: single story space; meeting room and office, and rectangular one: multi storey space; storage and workshop.
15
Design Progress / Final Massing study Context accessibility can decide the main gate of the project.
Making rounded mass can comfort perception of pessengers on warehouse
Creating conection between local comuunity and commercial area can be foundation alongside the project.
Rising up level to first floor from upper level of quiet pedestrain can give privacy protection of the warehouse and seperate office away from the noisy workshop.
Resuing the same idea of first mass study is used for spaces arranged by level of noise tolerance.
Upper level of building is deformed to maximize cross ventilation and solar heating and light.

Tectonic architecture with prefabricated fabric can be effective way in either sustaining resource and minimizing environmental impact. As used noise proof barrier and flexible structure arrangement, it can be possilbe to reuse for different use of the architecture.

First level has office, meeting room, and terrace for recreation. It gives privacy to First level by enclosing wall against high rising student apartments and highway. Essentially arranged openings can give proper daylight, resulting sustainable desgin, and enjoyful wellbeing.
24
Ground level paralleled to quiet pedestrian and main gate can let visitors overlook what craftmen do in the workshop. Thanks to public toilet in the right corner building, it can intrigue more people to come in.
25
Over 5m height workshop and studio need enough daylight, natural ventilation, and private recreation area. By giving a spacious courtayard, it can helpWWW craftmen to stay in studio longer.
