DISCOVER THE FORGOTTEN LEGACIES The focus of my portfolio is Forgotten Site, an unnamed island, an abandoned brewery, the old city wall and land which was previously used for an open-pit mine. All sites have the potential to be transformed into valuable space with creative landscape design.

I believe that the landscape could help citizens to remember the pain and the glory of history. It allows people to resonate with the same emotions of people who lived decades or even centuries ago. For a nation, history and culture are their unique collective memories and pride. How to preserve and translate historical events and emotions through a designed landscape?

I hope that my landscape design will arise such public discussion.

According to the characteristics of ancient guard town and the current situation of Zhuangshi Guard Town , functional areas are divided.

The guard town is surrounded by the city wall, the center of the cross street is Town God’s Temple, and there are also drill ground and granaries in the town.

BRICK ARRANGEMENT The stone materials and arrangement used in different parts of the wall are different. The gate is made of long bricks, the bottom of the wall is block stone, the top is square brick, and the middle is compacted with plain earth.

GRANARY The warehouse in the guard town serves as a store for grain and weapons.The function of garrison and battle in guard town is fully embodied by it.

YUANYANG ARRAY An evacuation battle formation adopted by the Chinese army in the Ming Dynasty against Japanese aggressors was invented by Qi Jiguang.

The designed tour lines passes through the mountains and the farmland. People can touch the city wall in different ways and feel that history.

At present, this empty space has been transformed into a leisure square for people to communicate and have activities.

In the past, soldiers would come to pray before the battle.

At present, with the multiple steps, we can feel the holiness and dignity of the town god's temple.

TOUCHING THE CITY WALL In this section, people can touch the wall at close range. Through this wall, it seems that ancient soldiers can be seen. The wall has become a link between ancient and modern people.

SITTING IN THE GRANARY PAVILION When sitting in a pavilion transformed from a rice barn, you can vaguely see the ancient farming scene in the beautiful farmland.

The arrangement of the tree pools in the playground square adopts the arrangement of ancient arrays, and the standing bamboo clumps are like weapons in the hands of ancient soldiers.

VISITING THE OLD TEMPLE The city god temple in the ancient city is the spiritual center of the whole city. we elevate it and feel sacred and solemn.

The eastern wall has a beauty of vicissitudes.

Because of the rapid urban renewal iterations, industrial upgrades cause the abandonment of a large number of factories. How can an abandoned site turn into urban parks which provide landscape with multiple services?

The former Libo Brewery is the memory of a generation of Shanghainese. The tall chimney and soils are the memory of industrial production. Due to the inconvenience of the surrounding traffic, the construction waste was stacked into terrain and the former Libo brewery was transformed into new open green space.

Libo Brewery is located in the group of Meilong community, with dense population and poor traffic conditions.

On the basis of the investigation of the site, the problems of the site were found and targeted solutions were put forward.

2001 Beer accounts for about half of Shanghai's market share, attracting a large population and injecting vitality into the community.

2012 The brewery was badly run and closed down, resulting in a large number of unemployed people.

The large shell structure gives people a sense of inclusion. The spiral shape is displayed on both the plane and the vertical, giving people a sense of gathering, guiding people and increasing interest at the same time.

Vertical Eight silos were changed into beer museums, with openings in the bottom of the silos and spiral stairs connecting the internal and external floors of the silos.

The center of the venue is located on the sunken stage. The audience seats are located directly below the second floor shell. Sitting here, people can not only taste beer and enjoy performances, but also enjoy the scenery along the river bank.

The upper part of the chimney is perforated to become a luminous device, and the lower part is provided with rock climbing equipment to increase the activity in the site.

This project uses the existing topography of the mine pit to transform it into an ecological diving park with different water depth pairs. At the same time, the circulating purification of water entering the puddle can meet the needs of people of different ages.

Through the analysis of the scenic spots around the site, it is found that the Xishan site has great development potential.

Based on the analysis of the existing mine reconstruction types in China, it is found that Xishan can become a country ecological park for leisure and entertainment.

Based on the analysis of the current situation of the site and the water quality of the site, the feasibility of constructing an ecological diving park in the site is proved.

Three groups of pumping pumps are set up on the terrace topography to transfer the water from the south pool to the north pool, and then flow through the constructed wetland to purify step by step, finally forming the self-circulation of the water in the north and south pits, bringing better water playing experience for tourists.

Different water depths provide suitable activities for people of different ages.

Stairs connected to the plank road can lead all the way to the water.

PROFESSIONAL DIVING UNDERWATER PLATFORM

The site is an unnamed island in the Indian Ocean. As a result of global warming, the rise in sea temperature aggravates the local coral bleaching issue. This project aims to cool down the seawater through topography design to respond to this ecological crisis and save corals.

The main topographical strategies include: amplifying the channel networks, adjusting the channel width and exaggerating the elevation change of the channel. By converting the heaet energy of seawater into kinetic energy, the seawater temperature will be lowered.

In order to solve the problem of coral albinism in the site, three systems of cooling, sedimentation and purification were established, hoping to change the water flow speed and thus the water temperature and water quality to a certain extent through the change of terrain.

According to the analysis of ecological adaptability, the direction of winter and summer ocean currents and the distribution of topographic vegetation, the design site scope is determined.

As the site needs to consider the monsoon influence of different directions in winter and summer, we have determined the system layout with mirror symmetry.

After the experiment, we put a 60 regular triangle.As the basic grid, draw control lines.

Under the control of basic lines, abstract curves are transformed into natural curves.Eventually forming a substantially planar form.

Extending the selection area to the entire Chagos islands region, and determine the selection rules for islands: 1.The length-width ratio of the island is greater than three.

2.The island area is no more than 480 hectares.

Based on the problem of coral bleaching on a global scale, constructing coral cooling grid system in the whole Indian Ocean region by combining existing islands with artificial floating islands.

The wind speed in May and October is the fastest, which corresponds to the turn of Indian Ocean monsoon current and also coincides with the highest range of seawater temperature.

Therefore, the main factor of coral bleaching in Chagos Archipelago is monsoon circulation.
