Happy New Year!

So here is some of what has happened in Manitoba since the last report. Ag Ex in Brandon was held October 25 – 29. The show took place Friday at 2:00 pm and was judged by Jeff Lees, Arcola Sask. With 58 head of cattle from 18 exhibitors. Thank you to Keith Troop for all your volunteer hours and hard work as Barn Boss. The team on Friday who volunteered to make the show go as smoothly as it did. Wally Mitchell – Ring man, Philip Jones and Blair Rankin who kept things moving as Marshals. Amy Sisson as Announcer, Holly Hyndman, Michelle Rimke, and Samantha Koroscil in charge of prizes, ribbons and presenting them. With Vivian Jones, tabulating the points for the show. To the Exhibitors who took the time to put a string together and come and show, thank you. Those who came out to support, watch and visit you make it even better. The Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor were RSK Farms from Brandon Mb. During the show Friday afternoon, the Manitoba Juniors, who had a BBQ Package fundraiser, made the draw the winning ticket was owned by Alan Woodhouse. Congratulations Alan! Saturday October 29, 2022 was the Junior show judged by Naomi Best, 16 head of cattle were exhibited.

Our annual Good as Gold Sale took place Saturday November 19, 2022. There were 38 lots for sale. The Fundraiser Heifer donated by Twin View Polled Herefords was won by Dan Gullett, Wawanesa, Mb. Who generously donated the heifer back to be auctioned off and the money split between Stars and the MHA. Thank you, Dan. The MHA is having a new directory made and planning to have it out for Ag Days 2023, the first in – person Ag Days in 2 years. Janelle Gulka was enlisted to design the directory, and design ads for anyone interested. The

inside front cover, inside back page and back cover were auctioned off at Good as Gold Sale.

Our AGM took place December 11, 2022, thank you to all who attended. Presentations were made to Michelle Rimke, who was awarded the MHA Stewardship award for continued dedication to the Breed and the Association. The Commercial Breeder award was presented to Dean Buchanan. Thank you and good luck in 2023!
