Do you have a fear of flying?‌ Overcome that fear with hypnosis? More and more people have hypnotherapy to help them overcome their flying anxiety. Some people are mildly anxious about flying and find that it gets worse over time - others simply develop a full blown phobia for no apparent reason. There are many aspects of flying that can create anxiety, such as fearing the plane will crash, claustrophobia, being out of control, fear of having a panic attack and fear of terrorism. Even being at the airport or boarding a plane may create anxiety for some people. Fear of flying can therefore range from mild anxiety before flying, to a state of terror which can prevent an individual from getting on the plane or even leaving it once they have boarded. Most people who do not suffer from a fear of flying often feel that quoting safety statistics and probabilities should put the sufferer's mind at lease. However, this usually does little to ease the discomfort of the sufferer who may then regard their fear as a weakness due to the statistical evidence their conscious mind knows. Yet fear of flying can affect anyone, regardless of age, status, gender and intelligence and it is not a sign of weakness. The good news is that there are techniques that can access the subconscious mind to enable a sufferer to overcome their fear of flying and in some cases even make flying a pleasurable activity!

Fear of flying is a learnt fear, which may stem from childhood (perhaps if the individual's parents showed fear) or could have developed after experiencing a particularly terrifying experience (such as bad turbulence or the plane having to make an emergency landing). Fear of flying may also be caused by other fears and phobias such as claustrophobia, fear of heights or agoraphobia. Misunderstandings of the principles of aviation can fuel a fear of flying too. Practically speaking, what can be done about a fear of flying? Hypnosis can be extremely helpful and often helps to eradicate the fear completely. You need to start with a goal. Would you like to be able to enjoy flying or simply to cope with flying? If not enjoy flying, then why not? Having a fear of flying can often interfere with holidays or business travel and lead to an individual avoiding a career involving travel or a family holiday abroad.
Do you dream of travelling to Brisbane, Australia but settle for Brighton, East Sussex? If so, you are not alone. The fear of flying is a surprisingly common problem. However, hypnosis can tackle the fear of flying psychologically, quickly and easily to help you overcome your fear by helping you to become more confident about flying. It is estimated that up to one in ten Fear of flying symptoms - sweating, dry people suffer from a fear of flying. The fear mouth, panic attacks, racing heartbeat, of flying is caused by the unconscious part hyperventilating, vomiting, worrying about of the mind becoming oversensitive in

relation to flying and thereby this causes a problem. Many people have found hypnosis not only helpful in helping them to overcome the fear of flying, but also to learn to look forward to flying and enjoying it. One of the keys to overcoming your fear is relaxation. Hypnotherapy will teach you relaxation skills that can become automatic when practised and perfected and to assist you in achieving this, my clients are provided with a CD recording of their session(s) to enable the process to continue following the session conducted in my therapy room. Hypnotherapy can help you to learn a new pattern of behaviour. In the past, you may have dreaded just the thought of flying, let alone boarding a plane, but in the future you can simply relax and start to enjoy the freedom of flying. Although hypnosis will not instantly cure your fear of flying, many successful clients would agree it could be the single most successful step you Overtake. Now all you have to do is dream of where you want to fly next! I hope this fear of flying article has helped you on your way.

PETS CORNER - Guest writer…
is dogs are not trying to take over the world or even just your house. The fact is dogs need to feel safe and secure and you dominating your dog will only make your dog feel insecure and could cause the dog to show behaviour problems such as aggression. Positive reinforcement is the way forward.
After been asked to be a guest writer in this month’s 1st Mags by our partner Calagran Four Paws Hotel kennels and cattery in Arkwright Town, I was very happy and then the thought of what to write about? As a full time dog trainer I thought I would address some of the myths I hear on a daily basis. One of the most important thing when training a dog is to understand them and allow yourself to change your views when science proves otherwise. When I began working with dogs 17 years ago I also believed most of these myths and now I know better and so can you. This is the one most people will have said at some point in their life. I work with dogs on a daily basis and haven’t met a dog who you couldn’t teach a new trick too. With an older dog it takes longer for them to learn it but isn’t that the same with humans?
Happy dogs do wag there tail but so do aggressive dogs so not every wagging tail is a happy friendly dog. Dogs use their tails to communicate with each other and to show their intent. A dog that wags his/her tail and moves his entire rear end, is usually demonstrating a friendly wag. Tails that are wagged when held higher, a twitching tail or a wagging tail held over the back may be associated with aggression. Dogs that have a litter before they are spayed are not better off in anyway. The fact is that spayed dogs are at lower risk for breast cancer and uterine infections. It is advised that you let them have their first season.
This is a common myth that many people believe to be true. Both mutts and purebred dogs can be either unhealthy or healthy. However, it is true that mutts generally do not have as many of the genetic diseases that you may find in purebred lines. I hope I have given you some food for thought and if you would like more information on training your dog or are thinking of getting a dog please feel free to take a look at www.positivepawstraining.co.uk or drop me a line on classes@positivepawstraining.co.uk Positive Paws Training have classes starting in September at Calagran Four Paws Hotel www.cfourpawshotel.co.uk in Chesterfield.

Becky’s Movie Previews We’re officially in the colder months now after another disappointing summer. The kids are going back to school and the inevitable adverts start to appear that no-one wants to see for a certain event in December. But to save you from all that, take a look at what will be showing in the cinema this month.
Coming Soon…
Sex Tape First up is a comedy to guide you into the month. With growing technological advances this film is up-to-date in showing what can happen if you accidentally upload something onto ‘the cloud’. Jason Segal ( ) and Cameron Diaz ( ) star as married couple Jay and Annie, who after having 2 children find any
opportunity they can to be intimate. When the kids are away for the night, and after Jay has some performance problems Annie suggests they make a sex tape. They decide to do it and when Annie tells Jay to delete it, he inadvertently syncs the video to several iPads the couple have given away as gifts over time. After failing to get it off ‘the cloud’ they set about trying to take back every iPad they’ve ever given away. This leads to a series of awkward encounters and some close calls. This is obviously not one for the younger generation with the 15 rating but its one that adults will enjoy and find a lot of fun.
The Box Trolls
This month’s children’s film is The Box Trolls. The film is a 3D stop motion animation and stars the voice talents of Ben Kingsley ( ) Simon Pegg ( ) and Nick Frost ( ). It is also based in the novel Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow. The film tells the story of a young orphaned boy named Eggs ) who was ( raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collecting trolls called Box Trolls. They are a community of quirky, mischievous creatures and reside beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. One day an evil exterminator called Archibald Snatcher ) comes up with a plot (
to get rid of the Box Trolls so Eggs decides to venture above ground where he meets and teams up with ). the feisty Winifred ( Together they come up with a plan to save Eggs’ family and the whole community of Box Trolls. This film is perfect if you’re looking for that last treat before the kids go back to school. And I’m sure there will be plenty of adults that will enjoy this too.

Walk Amoung the Tombstones targeting New York’s worst drug criminals escalates to a gruesome murder, the circuit’s ruthless leader seeks out Scudder to find the culprits and bring them to justice. As he now works as an unlicensed private detective, Matt sees what the police don’t see and Another gritty crime drama from goes where they most fear to go. He Liam Neeson (Star Wars, Taken, operates just outside the law to Batman Begins) that will surely track down those responsible and satisfy fans of his work. He plays just stops short of becoming a former NYPD detective Matthew monster himself. Scudder who is now a recovering alcoholic haunted by his regrets. The Equalizer Another action film for this month, this time with Denzel Washington (Man on Fire, The Bone Collector) leading the way. He plays Robert McCall, an ex-special ops commando who faked his own death to live a quiet, solitary life. He despises injustice and devotes himself to helping victims of criminals. Working at a Home Improvement store by day, he befriends a young girl, Teri (Chloe Grace Moretz) who is under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters who almost kill her. When McCall sees this, he can’t sit by, he has to help her.
Chesterfield 1st
Armed with hidden skills that allow him to serve vengeance against those who brutalise the helpless, McCall comes out of self-imposed retirement and finds that his desire for justice is reawakened. He becomes the one that people turn to when they have no other way to go, he becomes The Equalizer. The film is based on the TV series of the same name which starred Edward Woodward between 1985 and 1989. This update is sure to be grittier, darker and much more violent that the television series. And with Denzel at the helm it is sure to be a thrilling ride.

emulate the winning formula that made that film so good. He hasn’t had much luck with that as films such as Unknown and Taken 2 didn’t so well at the box office. But, they were enjoyable which is exactly what Walk Among the Tombstones will be for audiences, not as ground-breaking but entertaining nonetheless.

Dog walker Fiona is a regular visitor to the local beauty spot of Ecclesall Woods and holds the location very close to her heart, after meeting her husband, Dave whilst walking her dogs there in 2007. The group members, comprising Fiona Higgins (Greenhill), Lise Jackson (Bradway), Gaenor Jackson (Totley), Sylvia Brinnen (Norton), Liz France-White (Beauchief), Amanda Wragg (Norton), Angie Corner (Holmesfield) and Kate Dixon (Dore), are hoping to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the Cancer Charity and are already thinking of novel ideas for their neon outfits.

To celebrate the charity’s 20th anniversary, this year’s night walk theme is 90s’ neon. The Cancer Charity is encouraging everyone taking part to go wild with their fancy dress outfits and capture the retro-90s’ look (fancy dress is optional). A Masterpiece For £50… Local Artist, Keith Arrowsmith, studied at Art College in his youth, but decided to get a "proper" job in order to pay the rent. He kept up his artwork as a hobby, but after retiring decided to try his hand at selling portraits. He found he could provide a product at a quality and rice pleasing to people. Using digital photography to capture the character and detail for an accurate portrait, Keith usually arranges a free photo session at the subject's home. Working in oil pastels Keith's striking portraits hang in pride of place in dozens of homes. Unusual pets including ferrets, rabbits and racing pigeons as well as people portraits are to be found in his portfolio.
Working with pets can lead to some funny situations.....
