2024 is almost over and I hope your clubs are still going strong and have many projects lined up for the holiday season!

Last month the Big Island clubs were hard at work with several service projects. To name a few, Hilo had a rummage sale fundraiser where they accepted donations from the community and resold them at a rummage sale, making $1,300! Keaau and Kealakehe Key Clubs created cards to send to clubs across the region to celebrate Key Club week, both doing an excellent job with beautiful drawings! Waiakea Key Club also helped with the East Hawaii Cultural Center’s Haunted House where Key Clubbers scared guests to the haunted house and even helped design some of the art!

All in all, I’m proud to say that all clubs are doing incredibly well and I hope to

Welcome to the fifth issue of this volume’s Makai Messenger! Every time I work on this newsletter, it constantly surprises me how much closer we are getting to not only the end of the year, but also the end of the term! With that thought in mind, there’s no doubt that we’ve accomplished many things throughout this term, and November’s probably the most fitting monthto reflect and be thankful foritall!

As we near the holiday season, plenty of opportunities should most definitely open up to clubs across the division, from collaborative service projects to Friendsgiving socials! Like always, I encourage you guys to take the chance to attend these events, get your hours, and spread your experiences via articles & visuals! My eternal gratitude rests in you readers asyouperusethisfun-filledissue!

Aloha Makai! It’s BER-months, who’s excited for the holidays and months of fun-filled projects?!? This month, Maui has prepared some exciting events to keep working towardstheirgoalsforthisterm.

Starting with Baldwin, they participated in the Dia de Los Muertos event with Maui High and King K, where they helped ensure it ran smoothly by taking on tasks given by the vendors and event committees. Next up is King Kekaulike; at their school they have a few projects such as Color-A-Smile. Outside their school, they have offered to help out the booths at the upcoming Winterfest and are currently working on their fundraisingcommittee.

Lastly, wehaveMauiHighwhichhasbeenmakingamarkinitscommunitybyassisting with Feed My Sheep projects; encouraging donations for Maui Blood Drive and Period Product Drive; hosting a Charity Miles Walk; providing extra hands for vendors at Sunday Market; and partnering up with their Kiwanis club to host a Rainbow Bread Salefundraisingevent.

Approaching all the clubs are the November DCM and Kiwanis Family Social. Each club will be making rice stress balls to be included in teacher goodie bags and they will be making Thanksgiving decorations with positive words at the social to be donated at elder homes like Hale Makua. Our members are all looking for our interclub social to get to know other Kiwanis Family members whether that may be advisors, officers, ormembers!

Hi Division 22 Makai!! Let’s update you on all the Key Clubs here on our island andreflectonsomepastevents.

Last month, the Matsuri Festival was a success, as Kauai Key Club members helped bring our community together to celebrate Japanese culture with traditional music, dance, food, and crafts. Kauai also participated in the Halloween Exhibits at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center, guiding children and adult participants alike throughout a haunted house escape room! To top it all off, they hosted a Krispy Kreme Fundraiser, selling donuts to people stopping by at Walmart to raise money for the club and the upcoming HCON.

As for Kapaa Key Club, members attended the Ohana Fit Fest, which saw a great turnout. Many friends and families came together to promote health and wellness. Additionally, they are attending two upcoming socials this month alongside Kauai and Waimea: Connect the Ks during Key Club Week and Friends Giving during the November DCM. Members will strive to bond with one another through interactive activities and food, along with doing serviceprojectssuchascreatingdogtoys.

Once again, we are so excited to see what fun we have ahead. We look forward to continuing to bring our community together through these wonderfulgatheringsthisthankfulseason!

On the night of October 25, Kapaa Key Club helped Kauai county’s annual “Spooktacular”! There were 20 members, 5 officers, and 1 advisor in attendance. Guiding and touring families around a decorated county building, participants saw many stations where people could get candy or goodies provided by county departments. Members were highly encouraged to dress up and trick or treat as well! Most of our members got quite a haul, and after the event the country provided pizza, drinks, and free pumpkins to carve. I’d definitely help again if given

On Saturday, October 26th, our club helped the East Hawaii Cultural Center with their Phantom Farm Haunted House! Some members would be scaring those that had walked in while others would be outside teaching people how to make spooky cabbages where they could later take home! If people didn’t want to be scared then they would yell out mozzarella, which I think is a very cute idea to allow people and young kids to enjoy the artwork without any fear! Overall, this project was very fun and I would recommend that our club does it again!

On November 2nd from 3:30 to 8, an organization called Roots Wailuku, Maui. The event included a mariachi band concert, ballet music, and a classic car show.
