I was born in north of Russia, then graduated in Saint-Petersburg and worked as economist until found that my true inspiration is photography. I started studying photography in 2009 by visiting very interesting art photography course. In a year I took part in first exhibition in Saint-Petersburg. Next 2011 year some of my pictures were exhibited in "Parallaxe", Cologne, Germany. Making pictures of beautiful Saint-Petersburg and Italian cities I visited, I started understanding that my true passion is the fashion. I went to Milano for intensive fashion photography course in UpToDate fashion academy. Now I work with fashion designers and model agencies in Saint-Petersburg, making shooting for local magazines. Sometimes I get inspired by some idea and arrange shooting just for myself, just like the shooting I would like to present now.

about fashion

Fashion trends for Spring 2014 Fall alike weather cannot affect the mood those, who are already thinking of spring. World-famous designers already presented their Spring 2014 collections and we joined them all the way from New York to London, from Milan to Paris. Those who haven’t done so and wonder what will be fashionable soon, don’t worry, here’s your milestone. In this article, will be resumed all the biggest future trends of this year’s Fashion Week’s shows. As you know, Fashion Week is the most welcome event in the fashion industry. This year It started on September 3 in New York and ended after the month in Paris. It gives the chance for the “fashionistas” to find out the newest trends. For instance, in this year’s London’s fashion week there were 58 catwalk shows. Enough to detect something eyecatchy? Also, this event lets designers to demonstrate their creativity. For instance, this year, even 260 designers presented their works in NY fashion week. From the high-wattage metallic at “Lanvin” or “Versace”, to the world play “Dior”. There’s something for everyone’s taste. So, let’s get started reviewing the biggest trends for upcoming spring.
Bling bling
This Spring 2014 is forecasted to be shinier than ever. Designers played with reflective metallic, gold and jewel tones to create this glittering look for various different types of outfits. Brightest collections were presented by “Haider Ackermann”, “ Proenza Schouler” , “Dries Van Noten” and “Marc Jacobs” whose iridescent jackets shined as much as sequin – laden dresses. Not to mention dazzling “Lanvin’s” collection. Anyway, whichever sparkling fabrics you decide to choose – no need to wait for any special occasion! Let’s say, put on David Bowie’s starry satin jumpsuit and stun your friends tonight.
Crop tops
There are good and bad news related to this trend. I’ll start with the bad news. I’m sorry ladies, but you’ll have to renew your gym membership or at least workout at home to be able to show off your tummy this spring. And the good news is that you still have approximately 6 months left to do so. Yes, crop tops will be fashionable this spring and you better work out to be able to demonstrate the belly. Honestly, It’s hard to name at least one designer who didn't show at least one croptop this season, if not a whole collection that revolved around them. From “Rodarte”, which showed several, to “Kaufmanfranco”, “Tommy Hilfiger” and “Diane von Furstenberg”. So, beach body rules this spring!
2beMag
Sporty style
This year, the sporty trend embraced especially during New York and Milan Fashion Weeks. Let’s start with the daring and enticing “Gucci” collection. It included not only track pants or basketball shorts, but sheer bras and mesh t-shirts. Really eye-catchy from “Emilio Pucci’s” collection was that sporty outfits were feminine shapes cinched at the waist. In this year’s “Prada” collection there were many dresses with the sporty details added such as ribbed knitwear. By the way, visors are back! Various designers brought them back from the past. To sum up, to get this athleticinspired feeling – don’t be afraid to play with traditional outfits and sporty details, that’s what makes you stand out of the crowd.
Florals
Florals for summer or spring is nothing groundbreaking, but a hint of romanticism is felt in this year’s collections, with designers turning to roses, poppies and camellias. 3D flowers uplifted sheer dresses, which revealed delectably lacy undergarments. “Blossomed” the most – “Mimi Plange’s” and “Giambattista Valli’s” collections. “Plange’s” collection was full of colors ranging from mint, bronze, silver-blue and bright cerise pink colors, in sheer tops, high waisted silky skirts, ruffles and floaty dresses. While “Valli’s” collection could be described as “Uncluttered Floral Look”. This collection featured boxy short and jacket combos for an overall angular aesthetic. The looser garments were cinched with belts for a more form fitting shape. Even though in “Valli’s” collection we can feel this structure effect, looks are still feminine, refreshing and romantic. So, this spring, not only flowerbeds, but also streets will be full of flowers. Ladies, let’s blossom!
Art – Tribal scripts
In this year’s collections represented by various designers there’s art. Fashion Itself is art, but this time art is expressed as fashion. One of the most unique forms of art, used in collections is tribal prints and jewelry with hints of folklore from Latin America, Africa or Japan. So, next spring/summer’s fashion promises to be illustrated by everything from paint brushes, to spray cans and graphite. And these are not just single pieces, artistic prints are spread across an entire garment. “Valentino’s” collection was full of folksy, ethnic looks and even Egyptian graphics. “Alexander McQueen’s” collection was based on graphic geometry, tribal ethnic and even African Zulu warriors. In “Miu Miu” collection there was art nouveau style, surreal hidden imagery, unusual placements and even color clashes. Truly outstanding this year was “Chanel” collection where the biggest impression was made by broken patterns, collaged ensembles, deconstructed details and the most impressive – “Ombre” color effects. So, this spring – art is everywhere, don’t get lost among lines and circles.

about fashion Ruffles Usually ruffles were associated with the “girlie” look. However, this year’s Fashion Week’s designers managed to make It simply feminine. Just a warning beforehand – ruffles are not made for those who don’t have a fun personality! From the very first second you grab person’s eye, when you wear them, better be prepared to be under the spotlight. Basically, designers created the look, which is highlighted with ruffled necklines or hemlines and even sometimes full-bodied ruffles to add some extra texture. This year there were two main collections featured ruffles – “Balenciaga” and “Gucci”. Also, must be mentioned Zac Posen, Cynthia Rowley, Aussiee Dion Lee and J. Crew whose collections varied from easy-to-wear party look to an edgier, more futuristic looks. It’s all about being different and edgy at the same time.
Summer fur
Summer fur? That’s right. That is what It’s all about in this 2014 Spring “Helen Yarmark”, “Dolce & Gabbana”, “Miu Miu” and “Prada” collections. Let’s start with Yarmark’s “The Fur Sensation”. This collection was full of stripes and colors ranging pastel to Barguzine sable. Barguzine sable won the Grand Prix at the very first post – WWI Brussels World’s Fair Expo- ‘58 as “the most valuable, beautiful and elegant fur on the planet.” Of course, there were substitutes to sable such as mink, fox, ermine or lamb furs. Various styles of the outfits were represented. Besides traditional coats and jackets, there were vests with detachable sleeves, hooded ponchos etc…”Prada’s” runway was focused on outerwear therefore each look was matched with knit tights. Fur appeared in bright red, lavender and turquoise colors. “Miu Miu” runway swashed with furry coats topped with collars and huge buttons. Why wait for a winter If furry details can be integrated in your spring/summer garments? Let’s make It outstanding!
Polka Dots
It seems that polka dots will never be “out of fashion”. It pops up every few seasons and seems different each time. Retro-inspired It brings up strong, sexy, fun, bright and feminine side. This year, polka dots appeared in black and white at “Dolce & Gabbana”, while at “Moschino” and “Michael Kors” – red and black. Basically, in the collections you could see that instead of seeming obvious, designers put all their efforts to create this fresh and unique look. Some pieces were more two-tone than dot-printed, with large-scale versions of the classic pattern. While in other you could spot dots, which were shrunk on a slew of styles from office-perfect elastic waist sheaths to boxy crop tops. Either way, you just can’t go wrong by choosing dots this spring.

Bags
There’s no such a woman who can get by without a bag. It’s essential detail of the look. It may vary on the occasion, but there’s plenty to choose from. This season designers offer bags from miniature satchels to sophisticated chain bags. Must be mentioned, that this season’s top – structured bag with a multitude of styles from “Marc Jacobs” to “Michael Kors” and even “Dior”. Continuing on sizes, medium to large clutches will be very fashionable too. Talking about fabrics, this seasons pride is soft fabrications on structured silhouettes. Of course, satchel lovers won’t be disappointed too. This season trend is satchel with a single or double handle and even detachable straps. Last, but not least – colors. Runway was full of white handbags. That means that you can match your white bag to any kind of printed outfit which will be so popular this spring. Also, printed bags won’t stand in the shadows. This, on the contrary, goes perfectly with a non-colored gourmets. Give your imagination a shot!
Shoes Spring 2014 shoe trends vary from mules to lace-up sandals, deconstructed booties or even Birkenstocks. Yes, this season there will be what to choose from. Thanks for Victoria Beckham, Philip Lim and Jenny Kanye – mules are finally back. Not a very big fan of them? Well, maybe you’ll be glad to hear that insanely high platforms presented by “John Galliano”, “Dolce & Gabbana” or “Valli” will be seasons top. For those, who are looking for something more comfortable – gladiator sandals competed their place in top for one more season. Even sporty look fans will find something for them. Thanks to Trina Turks, Houghton and Isabel Marant – birckenstocks is a new athletic trend this season. No matter what kind of shoe you are a fan – pointy shoes will rule this season. No matter what form is It, either flats, booties or even pumped. Designers such as Emporio Armani and Zac Posen – dictate the trends. To sum up, whether style you prefer either platforms or flats, fancy or sporty , there’s something for all of us.
Jewelry Jewelry is inseparable part of our everyday look. It’s as important accessory as bag or shoes. So, what’s fashionable upcoming spring? Let’s begin with necklaces. On the top will be Trompe-l’oeil pearls at “Chanel” or Poison pearls at “Dior”. To embellish your hands you have plenty to choose from. You can match you sandals with warrior cuffs by “Alexander McQueen” or for more fancy look – arty cuffs at “Céline”. One of the most stunning pieces is feather bracelets at “Prada” that goes with everything. What about earrings? Two sensations this season are inspired by islands. First one - Hawaiian earrings at “Dsquared”, another – coral earrings at “Alberta Ferretti”. Need something fancy for the party? Good news, superstar jewelry at “Lavin” would be a great choice. One more thing, either you haven’t pierced your ears or just want to see what It looks like to have even more earrings, thanks to “Givenchy”, there are magnetic piercings. This is a really great choice to bring some variety to the casual looks. Last, but not least – jewelry for the neck. Choker lovers can stay calm, because “Saint Laurent” made them stay fashionable for at least one more season. Just like any other extra-large chain will rule this spring. It doesn’t matter If you believe in astrology or not – “Valentino” created something really impressive – pendants of the signs of the Zodiac. This not only looks great, but also gives the chance for your fellows to find out who you are. Two shots at once.

HOUSE OF VERSACE

Raw Talents Issue
True fashion fans must know It all about It. I mean, If I wake you up at 3 o’clock in the morning, you have to tell me the most inspirational designers of yours or mention the future trends of the latter Fashion Week. It’s a must as much as watching fashion documentaries. Probably everyone saw “The Devil Wears Prada”, but this is too commercial movie to be called a real fashion documentary. “September issue”, “Valentino: the last emperor” or “Bill Cunningham New York” are just a few to be mentioned as a real fashion documentaries. In my opinion, watching that kind of movies is the best way to learn about the fashion industry and at the same time to get to know designers themselves. So, recently fashion world was shaken by the new documentary “House of Versace”. It is a true-story based on the life of Donatella Versace and the “Versace” empire as told in the book "House of Versace: The Untold Story Of Genius, Murder and Survival”, published in 2010. However, the company Itself said that “Versace” has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV movie about Mrs. Versace. “Since “Versace” did not authorise the book on which it is based, the movie should only be seen as a work of fiction," a spokesperson for “Versace” told. Even though the movie has everything Its viewers will love: fame, fortune, sex and murder, there are controversial opinions related to this It. Famous “New York Times” critic Jon Caramica told that: “Movie is a mass-market knockoff of a luxury brand, not even as chillingly melodramatic as the typical Lifetime movie, dragged down by comically huge jumps in narrative and downright dismal dialogue”. While another critic, Rich Juzwiak, disagrees and expresses his opinion this way: “If nothing else, House of Versace is a solid entry in the spiraling-women subgenre of camp. … Gershon snorts, boozes, throws shoes, and breaks her champagne glass on a chandelier— that’s her wake-up call, the luxe version of the straw that broke the camel’s back.” One more famous “People Weekly” critic Tom Gliatto thinks that the protagonist of the movie - Gina Gershon's performance as designer Donatella Versace is fabulously strange. Either in a good way or bad, up to you to decide. “Entertainment Weekly” commented It this way: “It's hard not to wish for more awesome gold-lamé bitchery than House's by-the-numbers biopic supplies. If you're looking for a sincere tale of family strife and substance abuse, you could do way worse.” And the last comment which stands somewhere in the middle and is neither that positive nor negative was made by “LA Times” critic Robert Lloyd. He said that “House of Versace” suffers from the usual elisions, expositions and economies of TV biopics. And yet it is not the train wreck it might have been — it attempts, at least, to take things seriously — or indeed, should have been. But it does rise, which is to say lower, itself to the occasion often enough.” So, there are various attitudes, which lead to the discussion. I mean, this isn’t that kind of movie which could be described “Either you love It or hate It”. It stands somewhere in the middle. Probably many might wonder why they should care about this rich woman who parties with celebrities and outfits A-listers for the posh events. It’s not about that. Movie creator’s mission was to show off that long way to the glory. Donatella Versace has been through a lot, especially fell apart after her brother’s death. It was a really hard time in her life and she nearly lost her family, ruined her life with drugs and bankrupted her family business. Despite this, she found inner strength to get out of this dump and fight back what belongs to her. In my opinion, this movie can teach a regular person some valuable lessons. One of them - never give up. I recommend It to watch for everyone without any preconception. Either you like fashion, “Versace” Itself or simply want see another inspirational life story of the rich and famous – give It a shot.

Emerging Talents Creating the Brand: ISSON Eyewear
Emerging designers dream of one day having their designs grace the runway, to be on display in prestigious retail stores and acquire the admiration of customers worldwide. Being a designer is one small part of the puzzle to creating a successful brand. Most designers have a keen eye for fashion and the innovative process of conceiving a product. However, to obtain global success takes knowledge in the business side of the fashion industry. The industry is constantly revolving with new trends surfacing daily. It is fundamental that a designer establishes their own niche. ISSON Eyewear is a part of a distinct few that has accomplished greatness.
2beMag
In 2003 Eye Candy Optics launched sunglass brand ISSON. Today the company celebrates its 10th anniversary, in which they created a collection that introduces fashion forward designs fitted with flat aspheric sun lenses. ISSON stands by the motto of creating excellent quality products with an unconventional approach to design. In addition to custom made hinges, we can identify a unique selection of textures and patterns. Particularly, I am drawn to the diverse collection of architecture inspired frames. ISSON eyewear is able to appeal to a wide range of customers, offering a design for nearly every style imaginable. Due to this success, ISSON is available in over 26 countries.
Catherine Federici, designer and company director takes us behind the scenes of creating ISSON. How did you start your company? My husband Marco supported my idea and we started the business together in 2002. His involvement has been just as vital as mine and equally instrumental in its success, though the failures are all his. What is your company about? To anyone that has ever made something from scratch, “Imagination Rules the World” means a lot. Every day my team and I are compelled to think in this way, to stay competitive, relevant and unique. When I loosely sketch ideas, they are raw, kooky, playful and in most cases, not manufacturable – it’s from this place that I start designing and most likely why Napoleon’s words “Imagination rules the world” resonate with me. I could be more constrained, but where’s the fun in that? So, I let my imagination rule, knowing that sometimes I’ll get it wrong, but it’s more rewarding and fun, than being unoriginal and right all the time. I would describe my eyewear designs as left of centre, unpredictable yet wearable, intriguing, pieces that are fashion based but with a unique twist making them timeless, guaranteed to get a reaction and for people who are comfortable in their own skin and know who they are.
