I can’t believe this is my last article for the newsletter, but it suppose it is. I have about a month left at New Philadelphia, and have planned the following sermon series. I hope that many of you will make a special effort to come hear them! September 30 Sermon Title: “The Brave Heart” 1 Samuel 17:32 And David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” October 7 Communion, Meditation Title: “The Searching Heart” Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. Psalm 149 1 Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. 2Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. 4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. 5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. 6 May the praise of God
October 21 Sermon Title: “The Believing Heart” Romans 10:8 But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach); 9 because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. October 14 Sermon Title: “The Broken Heart” Psalm 51:17 The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. October 28 Sermon Title “The Wide Open Heart” 2nd Corinthians 6:11 Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide. 2nd Corinthians 7:2 Open your hearts to us. My time here at New Philadelphia has been blessed. Thank-you all. Blessings, Worth (American Typewriter Font) J be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, 9 to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord. ~This was the Psalm of the Day on May 29, 1988 when Worth was Installed as Pastor of New Philadelphia Moravian Church
