Next up is The Roundup, a new feature in which we choose a covetable wardrobe piece (this time it’s the rugged boot) and spotlight a few of our favorites. (See The Roundup, pg. 28.)
EDITOR’S NOTE
Welcome to the Winter 2014 issue of MeetMinnie magazine! We’re thrilled you stopped by.
Finally, we’ve brought back one of our favorite features: 9 Designs. With projects ranging from clothing to holiday decorations, and from jewelry to home goods, 9 Designs provides ideas to inspire. Perfect for snowy afternoons or holiday gifts. (See 9 Designs, pg. 31.) We hope you enjoy the issue!
With this issue, we celebrate our two-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years. I am so proud of what MeetMinnie has become and excited for the future. More than anything, though, I am grateful. Grateful to the talented people I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with over the past two years, the new friends I’ve made around the world, and the readers who have shown their support along the way. MeetMinnie is made possible because of all of you. And now, on to the issue. Winter is the season of coziness. Of warmth, love and loved ones. It’s the season of celebration. The season of magic. In this issue, we honor the spirit of winter. We begin with a classic dedication to the season: winter scenes in our favorite black and white palette. Black + White Holiday is an ode to our ideal holiday: simple, smart, cozy and chic. (See pg. 19.)
On a personal note, I would like to extend my continued thanks to the many artists, designers, shops, advertisers, friends and family members who have helped make MeetMinnie magazine a possibility over the past two years. We would not be here with-
out your support, and I cannot thank you enough. Your kindness has been overwhelming.

P.S. Stop by in June for the next issue of MeetMinnie magazine. In the meantime, keep up with us on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and on our Tumblr page! (See pg. 54 for links.)
To our readers, thank you for taking the time to check out MeetMinnie magazine. As always, if you have comments, questions or

BLACK + WHITE
HOLIDAY
Winter. A symphonic mix of magic and merry, of light and dark, of cold and cozy. Here we find the spirit of the season in our favorite black & white palette. Understated. Simple. Beautiful. Winter.
Under the tree. Gifts wrapped in newspaper take their proper place. Tree photograph by John Musson. Chair by IKEA.
Natural beauty. An artful celebration of winter’s whimsy. Wall hanging by Oxide Pottery.
Bundled up. Winter warmth = cozy blanket + crackling fire. Bedspread by IKEA.
Points of light. Papier-mâchÊ cones turned twinkling holiday lights. See pg. 53 for instructions.
Nature vs. nature. Classic logger boots meet jute rug. Boots by Chippewa. Rug by West Elm.
The season of light. Black, white and wooden lanterns lead the way home. Lanterns by IKEA.
RUGGED
BOOTS
Admit it. You love a utilitarian boot in the wintertime. It’s sporty. It’s outdoorsy. It make you feel tough. In this edition of The Roundup, we’ve collected a few that we believe effortlessly blend utility with high fashion potential. (Not to mention affordability.) We’ve included three classic silhouettes: the ski boot, the combat and the logger. The ski boot has sporty girl written all over it. The combat is for days when you feel a bit tougher. The logger, complete with removable kiltie, lends a woodsy, outdoorsy vibe. Each style is sure to thrive in your wardrobe for years to come, getting even better with age and weather. Style Tip: We love these boots with the skinniest of skirts and boxiest of tops. Add an oversized hooded knit coat to complete the look. Great with bare legs or tights. And please, don’t be afraid of a visible scrunched down sock. See pg. 53 for product details. Products subject to availability.

QUESTIONS.
What is MeetMinnie? Launched in December 2012, MeetMinnie is an online style magazine.
Who is Minnie? Minnie is our muse, a character we created for the magazine. In our minds, Minnie is that girl, the one who makes a $5 tshirt look couture. The one who rocks a choppy pixie cut with ease. Leather shorts? No problem. Mixing prints? In her sleep. She’s the one who takes chances. The one who pulls it all off with attitude alone. But why does she get to have all the fun? We’re all a bit Minnie. And there the concept for MeetMinnie was born.
Can I buy MeetMinnie magazine in print? Not at this time. MeetMinnie is exclusively an online publication, available at www.meetminnie.com.
How can I get my shop or brand featured in MeetMinnie magazine? We are always on the lookout for new shops, products and brands to feature in the pages of MeetMinnie. If you think your shop or brand fits our aesthetic, email us at submissions@meetminnie.com. Be sure to include a link to your site or lookbook.
