Weapons The spartans had a good army due to their weapons and killing power. Their main weapon was a 2 and a half foot sword for when the enemy got past the first line of defense. Another weapon was the spear; for long combat almost 6 feet long. they would throw it at their enemies. Spartans would not be the warriors they are know for without their weapons.

Weapons Spartans had a third weapon that was strong. Spartans had a small sword called the sauroter. It had lots of uses as a secondary weapon. It was very deadly it was basically a large spike. This weapon was small enough to use to at a time. This weapon was not used very much but it still had good killing power.

Armor Greek armor was made specifically for battle. Greek warriors wore light armor so they had more flexibility. All the armor they wore was made of bronze or brass. The armor consisted of a breastplate, backplate, bracers and greaves. Spartans used armor that made them look more muscular. This appearance intimidated their enemies. Spartans were successful warriors in part due to their carefully made armor.

Armor Spartan helmets are very special and most important. These helmets are from the greek origin. their helmets are made out of bronze. Later in the century the helmet covered the neck and head. The helmet had slits for the eyes and a small slit for the mouth making it hard to breath in the helmet. Greek helmets are similar to Conquistador helmets. If Spartans did not have there helmet they would have failed many wars.

Leonidas Leonidas was a warrior. He was the spartan king who stood against the persian army and the crusaders. He was married to Cleomenes. He was the most feared warrior of them all. Leonidas was known as a legendary spartan. Spartans technique for fighting

Leonidas There were very few spartan soldiers. Leonidas and his army were going to kill the king Xerxes. For 2 days they had to with stand many persian attacks. Then Leonidas had to save most of his army by pulling out of the battle; there were 300 brave spartans left. They fought to the last man but all of them died. some historians say spartans were the strongest army ever despite there size.
