The History Of Chocolate

Chocolate was discovered and made in the early 1100 BC by the early Indians. Chocolate was found in the forest of South America. They would use chocolate for mostly celebration and for birthdays and funerals and other special occasions. Modern day chocolate is made with more sugar than in 1100 BC.


Adding sugar in chocolate was the best idea. The Europeans found out a way to sweeten the chocolate by adding sugar and milk. John Cadbury found out a way to make solid chocolate. He got the chocolate by getting the cocoa butter and squeezed the chocolate out and then boiled it.Todays chocolate is made a totally dierent way than it was in the past.


How It’s Made

This is how chocolate is made today. This is how the process goes. They would first get the cacao bean and then crack it open and then get all of the smaller seeds that are inside of the actual seed. After that they would leave the seeds out in the sun to let the beans roast. They do this because when they let it roast it gets the chocolate flavor into the beans. After that they would get a giant bowl and then start stirring for a long time. They do this to crush the beans to make it into a kind of paste. Then the liquid chocolate is put into the molds to get its shape.


This was how they made hard chocolate in 1100BC. It is kind of similar to the factory making. They would first get the big seed and then crack it open and then get the small seeds out of that. And they would roast the beans. Then they would put the chocolate beans into a cup and let it melt over fire. This cup is also used as the mold for the chocolate.


Healthy Chocolate Vs Unhealthy Chocolate Dark chocolate has more healthy products.I am only going to talk about dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is a little bit more healthy for you than milk chocolate and white chocolate. These are some of the resounds why. When you eat the chocolate it well let the blood flow more calmly. when you eat dark chocolate it will make you fell happy and not so worried. Studies show that eating 2 or 3 pieces of dark chocolate can lower your blood pressure. White chocolate has no healthy things in it besides cacao.


White chocolate does not have the health benefits that dark chocolate has. White chocolate can be considered unhealthy because of the dierent ingredients. Unlike dark chocolate that is good for your heart and your brain, white chocolate has more sugar and less cocoa than it’s healthier cousin, dark chocolate.


Glossary Cacao- The bean that holds the chocolate. Roast- To heat up over a fire. Blood Pressure- How fast your heart is pumping.

Ingredients- Any of the substances or food that is combined to make the chocolate.
