Lena Welcomes Off-Road National
The AMSOIL Championship Off-Road series features 900-hp trucks battling fender-to-fender through the mud and dirt, delivering some of the most intense off-road racing around. The half-way marker of the 2022 campaign at Lena means points battles are beginning to take shape. The dirt-flying, wheel-to-wheel action will take place at the Dirt City Motorplex racetrack. The Lena Motorsports Club, along with many volunteers, broke ground in the spring of 2018 and finish building the Motorplex in just one year.
The facility features a short course track (.85 mile) that consists of jumps, whoops, tight corners, split lanes and a lowered suspense corner. The latter brings the race vehicles up into the front stretch, and through the start/finish line flying high in front of the crowd. After a race is complete, the top three finishers park their vehicles in front of the crowd, and then make their way to the podium for interviews. Fans get to talk with drivers during this time, too. Dirt City Motorplex, 414 E. Main Street, offers off and on-site camping just outside the racer pit area. Pits are open to the public with the purchase of admission. On-site amenities include a restaurant.
