Fr Mark Writes This Friday (3 July) my sister in law, Rev Alison White will be consecrated Bishop of Hull in York Minster. She will be taking on a huge responsibility as a bishop anyway, and she will have to face the challenge of the strangeness of being a woman in that role. Please pray for her. I shall be present, along with all my family. Fr Jeroen CP, Rector at Minsteracres, will also be present (Alison’s former parish of Riding Mill had a very close relationship with Minsteracres) and we will both be taking part in the ceremony. Proclaim ‘15 - Birmingham, 11 July The Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have organised a conference on evangelisation, to take place in Birmingham on 11 July, entitled Proclaim ’15. Deacon Barry is taking part. The bishops have asked all the parishes to pray for the success of this very important conference. We will have 3 hours of prayer on Friday 10 July, from 7pm to 10pm, beginning with Mass. From Laudato Si’: A spirituality which forgets God as all-powerful and Creator is not acceptable.
