PLEASE NOTE: that if you did not receive your copy of our parish magazine it may well mean that we have not got your address. FR MARK is away on retreat with priests and deacons from across the country in Leeds. He will then be away on an early holiday, returning for the weekend of 11/12 May.

If you are celebrating your 1st/10th/25th/40th/50th/60th + wedding anniversary this year, please apply as soon as possible. Get in touch with the Fr Mark or Fr Patrick and provide your names, the anniversary you are celebrating, your home address, email address and telephone, so you can receive an invitation from the Archbishop.


MISSION/RED BOXES- If you have not collected your red box from the Church today, please collect from the Parish office. Thank you. SVP - Lenten Appeal Donations: thank you to all who have returned their envelopes, anyone who has not had the opportunity yet, please return at Masses this weekend or next. Thank you. HOLY GHOST FATHERS APPEAL – There will be an appeal on behalf of The Holy Ghost Fathers over the weekend of 25th/26th May, in support of their mission. PIANO- there is a piano for sale if you are interested please contact the Pariah Office or speak to Fr. Patrick. ONE-DAY PARISH PILGRIMAGE – 18TH MAY - We are planning a one-day visit to Littlemore, just outside Oxford. This is where Blessed John Henry Newman lived and studied for a while and where in 1845 he was received into the Catholic Church by his close friend, Blessed Dominic Barberi, the Passionist who brought the Passionist order to England. Newman is soon to be canonised and it would be good to visit the place where his desire to become a Catholic was realised by the man in whom he saw holiness made real. If you are interested in joining us please let Sr. Corinne or Deacon Barry know. MINSTER ABBEY RETREAT: May 24-26: THE INTERIOR JOURNEY OF ETTY HILLESUM: A weekend of prayer and reflection on the life and spiritual transformation of this extraordinary woman. For more information email sraelrederwin@gmail.com COMING SOON: The Life in the Spirit Seminars: talks on DVD that have helped millions of Catholics worldwide to come to a deeper joy in their faith. We are planning to start on Monday 4th June and then for the following 5 Mondays. The sessions will run from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. A sign-up sheet will be put up in the church nearer the time. FORTHCOMING EVENTS CHARITY QUIZ FOR TEAM TANZANIA - at the Catholic Retreat Hall on Saturday May 4th, 7.00 for 7.30 start with quiz master Peter Warr. Teams of 8, £6 per head and please bring your own food, drink and glasses. This is Peter's last quiz for Team Tanzania as sadly after many years of hard work, the charity will be 'wound up' later this year. Your support for the final quiz would be much appreciated. Cleaning Group – ( B) – The 2019 Cleaning Rota is now displayed in the Sacristy Thank you for your generosity to the clergy in the Easter Collection. The collection on Good Friday for the Holy Places = £510.20. Thank you. NB If you are a UK tax-payer then you can gift-aid whatever you offer. To gift-aid your offering please fill in one of the forms at the back of Church. Second collection this weekend is for St. Georges Cathedral. “SVP -Bring some food each week and help someone to eat" "especially tea, coffee, rice, tinned fruit and meat” CHRISTIAN MEDITATION: Tuesday 2.15 pm; Thursday 7.30 pm. In the Upper Room. All welcome Adoration every weekday: 8.30-9.30a.m. Thursdays: All Day from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. Also Saturday morning, 10.00 to 11.00 with Rosary at 10.45., said for the Parish each week. There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 3.00 to 4.00pm on Fridays.
